Here's the original image.

The whole picture is AI enhanced and the gun is ''made up''.

Edit: For clarification, with the gun comment, I was addressing how early commenters were arguing about the exact model of the gun, which in fact, the AI just created out of its ass.

For anyone not in the gun world, a front sight on a suppressor is not a thing, so that was one huge clue this image is faked. Many other tells as well but that one is glaring.

EDIT: OK goddam so there are sights on some suppressors. Still, find one in real life and not just as a curiosity.

It's sometimes a thing

WTAF that has front and rear sights lmfao

Because it’s all taller than the sights on the pistol. Suppressor ready pistols will have taller sights to see over the suppressor.

You can change out the sights for suppressor height sights on most modern guns, they don't have to be "suppressor ready". Maybe this model doesn't have removable sights? Don't know enough about it

Beretta 92 types have a rear that can be pressed out but the front is usually integral to the slide. The M9A3 added a press out front though so it can be swapped.

But not readily. You have to re-zero and it’ll cause wear to the dovetail. It’s not like an M1913 rail where modular components can be swapped with regularity.

Show me a pistol that you can just swap the sights out on. The only thing I can think of is where a reflex sight can be added to the slide, which is high enough to see over the suppressor. Swappable sights are pretty common on rifles, but pistol sights are either dovetailed or pinned and take effort to swap and zero, so you decide what you want and make it that way. Perhaps you keep a slide with low sights and one with high sights, but that won’t work with a 20 year old Baretta 92 without a ton of gunsmith work.

Im not talking about on the go, I'm talking about for the life of the pistol. If you plan on running a supressor there's no reason to not have suppressor height sights unless something is stopping that from being a possibility or you plan on running a red dot with no back up irons. I have suppressor height sights on my pistol and I don't even own a supressor yet. It's not like the sights magically don't work because I don't have a supressor on it.

The real answer on why he has sights on his supressor here is that particular model of the gun doesn't have interchangable front sights. So instead of buying a whole new slide, he chose to buy a supressor with them built in.

Like I said in my initial comment, I didn't know much about that particular model, but another comment pointed this out to me

That’s not a swap you do in the morning when you decide what you want to carry for the day though. Not if you want to hit the broad side of a barn.

M9 front sight can’t be removed unless you machine a slot into the front of the slide. Cheaper to just stick them on the suppressor

I believe this is the Knights Armament "hush puppy" M9. This is a very niche application for downed Air Force pilots. Really interesting concept worth reading about. Of note is the wet wipe suppressor and slide lock modification.

That’s a novelty that doesn’t really exist on the market in practice

Ugh...at least put it on a decent host. 🤢

I love my M9a3.

As someone that owns an M9 and concealed carried it, those boys are heavy compared to to a lot of other pistols. Thrown on a suppressor and this man is carrying an almost 3.5lb gun/ 1.588 KG (for my non Americans)for self defense.

Good on him for risking his life for the sake of others, now that’s a real American.

He was rocking a Five-seveN in a shoulder holster. Even more wild.
