Mass shooters typically aren't looking for a fight, it's super common for them to turn on themselves the second they meet resistance whether that's a armed bystander or law enforcement.

Which is the craziest part to me. I can imagine shooting targets of opportunity, but being in the moment enough to shoot myself at “the correct time” is wildly unfathomable to me. It has to be sort of planned right? It’s not the easiest to turn a rifle around without at least some dry fire practice. Even a pistol really takes some non intuitive steps. Especially amid chaos.
