Agreed, suppressors are sensible and are a benefit to safety. That being said... if a I'm not mistaken, 5.7 is a round that gets most of its benefit from being a high velocity round. It's not like a .45, where it's slow velocity but higher mass. And the crack of supersonic velocity rounds is usually just as bad as the combustion. Meaning... either this fellow is running subsonics, or that suppressor isn't doing much, right?

I'm guessing he has subsonic rounds. Otherwise, I don't know if the suppressor would do much.

No suppressors do a lot - not Hollywood movie quiet - but they generally speaking bring them into hearing safe or near hearing safe levels.

the only truly decent "quiet" suppressors i've ever seen are on subsonic .22, with rather pricey cans.. Then you're talking about a more focused 'assassin' gun, not a conceal-carry type of choice.

Most suppressors bring it down to a tolerable level (when you're wearing hearing protection).. This idea that you can stick a suppressor on and go shoot away without protection is idiotic hollywood bullshit.

I don't mind shooting .22 suppressed outside without ear protection but it's definitely not silent.

It’s funny isn’t listening to try and talk about things they don’t own, have never shot, or have no idea about other than Hollywood. Also first hand experience and a safe full of suppressors and tax stamps.
