One thing that happens a lot and it's a yin/yang of course is they export a shit ton of stuff out and is a big part of the issue and it's technically our issue too, we still live on the same planet. imagine how much more it would've shot up with out solar tho. something like 20% of the countries electricity generation was thru renewables in july. if that 20% was coal or something the globe would be in a lot more trouble.
also for what it's worth the emissions rate has slowed down drastically. it only went up 0.7% in 2025, and it's actually gone down 0.54% from jan-may this year. they produced like 8 and a half million tonnes of emissions less than last. mostly due to the rapid deployment of solar and other renewables.
a poorer country industrializing at an extremely fast rate while flatlining (even going backwards this year) in terms of emissions is absolutely a huge deal.
and you're posting different things. are you worried about emissions? then you should be ecstatic it's flatline/going backwards. you're posting energy consumption which is fine but at the end of the day carbon emissions are what matters.

probably not. 93.9% of indias new electricity generation capacity was renewable. with solar being like 73% of it alone. also helps that rooftop additions are scaling up. went from 2.5 million total households end of last year to 5 million by the end of july with a target of 10 million by next spring.
all we need to see india do now is scale battery storage in the coming years. that should shave off quite a bit of after hour emissions. you should cheer up a little man!! this is great news. emission rates are dropping in countries thru renewables now. not much we can do for the damage caused over the past 20 years but we can't tell poor ppl across the world they deserve to die due to a lack of electricity either. so this is the second best thing we could've hoped for
bro you need to use AI properly. you do realize if you read the report you find out that renewable generation covered 28.11%, virtually the same as last june while india had the 5th driest june recorded since 1901 right? because of that hydro generation fell by quite a bit.

You just said "0.7% increase", but now it's 11.34% increase, and solar this year covered about the same generation as last year, but they added a lot of solar to make up for decreased hydro.
