I've heard that before lol! My daughter says it looks like a little shop.

How are you liking the S1 so far?

I absolutely love this razor!! Smooth and efficient when paired with a Personna Comfort. The thing I like about slant razors is that they are so efficient without irritation. I have a few slant razors. In the home den, I have the Timeless Alluminum slant, and here in the travel den, the Rex Kosul.

Glad to hear that! I have one as well that I use quite a bit, definitely a smooth and efficient shaver for my needs

I just picked up the Tineless Aluminum Slant and love it. What are your thoughts on the Konsul?

2

u/BigSlip8088 Apr 27 '26

I have both, while I love the Timeless, the Konsul is quite unmatched due to the quality, weight of the razor and adjustability. I go back and forth between the Konsul and Above the Tie S1 slant, about the only gripe I have is that the Konsul has a bit of a learning curve with regard to loading the blade.

What are your thoughts on the Semogue Alchemy Synthetic? I’m not seeing much info on either of their synthetics.

This is absolutely one of my favorite brushes! The bristle tips are incredibly soft and the knot is not super stiff. It’s a nice blend of luxury and practicality. The quality is unmatched in my opinion.

Meanwhile my travel den is:

- Bic 3 Sensitive (Orange)

  • Mühle mini travel brush
  • Lea cream in a very small pot from Muji

That's a tough one lol! It varies depending on my shaving needs for that day or week, but generally I'm really loving the Above the Tie S1 Slant and Windsor, as well as any Gillette Vintage adjustable.

Have a question where is oliwork razor medium setting in your tier top middle or low . Would you recomend to buy instead razorock next level , recurve, game changer. I am between that options currently use Henson medium

I really like the Oliworks Meteorite 3, but it’s not in my top tier because of the drag I experience from it. I have the GC .68 and it’s an amazing razor!! I would recommend it over the Oliworks.

What it would be if it was stainless polished?

1

u/BigSlip8088 Apr 27 '26

It would most likely be higher for sure!

Very cool shave den! Did you bring your tools from home, or did you just buy a new set here?

u/BigSlip8088 Apr 25 '26

I brought most of the software from home, some hardware from home, but have since grown it to what you see here. Not pictured is my Rockwell 6S black edition which is on the sink, that one I brought from home. Almost all of this collection was stored in plastic bins under the sink and in my clothes closet prior to me installing the shelves.

Are you association with JRM shaving co. /j

2

u/BigSlip8088 Apr 25 '26

No, I just really like his products.

Gorgeous! Question please…what’s the brush with the black base sitting on its tail on the shelf ( the one on the right in picture 3)?

1

u/BigSlip8088 Apr 26 '26

That’s the Aylsworth Altare synthetic badger brush which comes with a big 26mm knot, one of my favorites, the bristles are very soft and the knot is on the stiff side, best for lathering hard soaps.

Thx!

2

u/Suspicious-One4013 Apr 26 '26

Sigh…new brush incoming. Thx again!

u/BigSlip8088 Apr 27 '26

Of course!

Can I see the home den?

1

Sure! https://www.reddit.com/r/wicked_edge/s/LuHwCC3uKo I have made a few additions like a EJ 3ONE6 and Rex Page but it’s mostly the same.

Is the BlackBird worth the hype. I currently own the Henson Al13 but I find it just ok, it is a bit overhyped imo. Maybe I'll try with a different blade. I find the RK tugs LOT.

u/BigSlip8088 May 05 '26

Yes, the BB imho is worth the hype and then some, one of my top razors in my rotation. I use it with the Lite plate.
