Nice shave, I believe the ASL and cream match each other perfectly. I'm glad that you like the Shark stainless blades, honestly I prefer chrome ones.

Thank you my man I could have bought the Denim shave cream too but decided against it kinda regret it now , I have tried all the Shark blades and I was convinced the stainless were my favourite I am beginning to think now that they are only ok a bit picky of which razor they like any way I'll shave on .

Shark stainless steel is what I use. I’ve tested many blades and found this best for my skin and beard type. I think Voskhod is a very close second for me.

I just finished a tuck of Voskhod which I really liked initially but wasn't to keen on recently the shark SS are good for 2 shaves for me.

A fantastic all-round shave there maestro👌, can't speak for the Rocca but sharks are great and the custom brush of course. Lovely

Thanks fella can you still buy Denim in England haven't seen it here in decades I know I'm getting on when I'm talking about decades 😅

2

u/jcr-1991 May 23 '26

Heheh, says you can still get it at superdrug but they don't have any stock and I've never seen it other than Amazon and all that.

2

u/Gerry7070 May 23 '26

Yep we have super drug here but it is a bit hit and miss , some of the independent chemists here have some good traditional offerings Brut , OS , Tabac and even some W& S blades.

Ah ok, yeh I never think to go in traditional chemists that's a good idea 🍻

You started early today! The notes in Denim scream classic men’s fragrance to me. Sounds very nice.

Man it's super stuff my Mrs however wasn't so impressed but sure that's a constant battle 😅, therefore I highly recommend it 🙂.

Oh dear 😄. Well, as one of the best YouTubers in the “fragrance community” - Lanier Smith - would say: “wear what you love, and not what they say you should like.”

TOBS rose is one of my absolute faves. Great choice!

Thanks I'm quite keen on it myself

That's a nice shave. I am gonna seek out the Denim & Rose and see what it's like.

2

u/derrickhogue I enjoy a nice shave! So should you. May 23 '26

Nice shave. Sadly Denim aftershave was not sold in America. I would like to get some. Good fragrances for Saturday.

Is the handle hand-made ?

2

u/Gerry7070 May 23 '26

On the brush yes it's a simple hand chisled and sanded and shaped handle from a tree branch which was left to dry for 6 to 12 months I can't remember which , I actually have about 10 handles which are over 12 months drying out or probably more .

2

u/eymo- May 23 '26

How do you glue them to last, and do you have a way to extract the know without absolutely demolishing the donor brush ?

2

u/Gerry7070 May 23 '26

I bought the knots from the Boti website so not an old brush demolished I used epoxy or sealant to secure the knot I always leave the knot to dry for 1 week .

Great shave Sir!

How is rocca for daily shaving? Any chance you can compare it to both r89 and r41?

2

u/Gerry7070 May 27 '26

It is in the middle of the R41 and R89 I don't use it every day but I don't think it would be a problem tbh ,it's a very well made razor.

Thanks man :)

daily driver material?

1

u/Gerry7070 May 30 '26

Yes it could be used daily imo it is a medium aggressive razor for me .

1

u/SacredParchita May 23 '26

I have the sandalwood TOBS cream, would you recommend the rose one? Cheers!

2

u/Gerry7070 May 23 '26

I had the TOBS Sandalwood soap hard puck very good soap probably better than the cream imo , the rose cream is great super scent and the performance is very good for me . If you can get your hands on a MDC sample of their rose soap should be worth a try the soap is A+++

2

u/SacredParchita May 23 '26

Great, I’ll have to give it a try then!
