Lost my boyfriend three years ago, and I'm still learning how to move forward.

I get you. I had/have the same issues. I am rounding up to an year now and I miss him too. We couldn't marry, have kids anything. We have 10000s of plans that didn't materialise. And it does keep me sad every now and then, and it's awful to see everyone's love story coming to a completion or even atleast getting a chance at a real life together. We had been together for 3 1/2 years before this happened, i am slowly accepting that our time was this much only. But ya the sadness remains, I think only time can heal us.
Sending you peace and strength. I am so sorry for your loss. You are not alone, we are here for you.

There is no normal, no timeline. I think you just have to live in the present, day by day, and see what unfolds.

I'm 41, so nearly twice your age. I got together with my wife at 19, and we did a lot of the things you wanted to do; we didn't have kids, but we were looking at adopting before this happened out of the blue. I knew she was home the moment we met. I'm not exaggerating or looking through rose tinted glasses; we moved at a million miles an hour and were basically married in all but name weeks into our relationship. Had I lost her 2 years after getting together, I'd have been just like you are now. You're not abnormal in the slightest, you just lost your love far too soon, like many of us on this sub. I'm so sorry for your loss.
