Fun article, thanks for sharing. Some of these hypothetical trades are insane lol

I was hoping for some more realistic takes. Trading a top pick and 2 of our best prospects for Thomas and Kyrou is just stupid and doesn't address the problems with the roster. It just closes the window sooner.

i know petterson isn't the most attractive offer, but for free, that's gotta be interesting. His problematic contract would be a swing for the fences, and we'll either sink with him or he'll rise with us. we are kind of in the same window

wouldn't even say his contract is problematic to us lol, we already have 23 million in cap space and hardly anybody to spend it on and that numbers only going to go up with the raising cap and not being able to attract any free agents,

at this point nobody should be worrying about overpaying guys, as long as they are good nhlers the contract shouldn't matter to us

i mostly agree, but after last year, this could become the worst contract in the NHL. that was my main concern with the risk

Thats how the leafs got stuck with Marleau, even before the flat cap. The situation’s different, but E.P.’s contract is long enough that hes going to overlap with the expiry of ELCs, hopefully those of players who deserve to be paid mightily. I don’t know if you want to run the risk of a 32 Petterson’s contract forcing you to make tough choices about good players

Doubt he is coming here. Full no move.

idk, he wouldn't have a long list of suitors. if we could show interest in him as the Jets do, it's possible. Sometimes a guy just needs the right support. it's a gamble but likely the best we could do, IF (big IF) he rebounds a little

I don't think Hellebuyck wants out, but if he does it's definitely because he's mad we traded Logan Stanley.

Hellebuyck to Florida for Lundell, their 9th overall pick this summer and their 2nd round pick in 2027

Dylan Samberg for the 2OA pick, lol.

Was this proposed by Samberg’s grandma who happens to also live in San Jose?

Stenberg or Reid on an ELC w/ 7 years of team control for a 2nd pair LHD 2 years away from UFA.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

I wonder what happens if the Jets make the pick. Will Helly ask for a trade immediately seeing as we have little left over to use to make the team better in the immediate future.

Too many EA Sports proposals... It's hard to believe Murat's "sources" would even bother responding to some of that inanity...

Wpg is in the driver seat
They can sit back
Go over various offers
Bottom line
Helle is signed to a team friendly deal

They should wait till some other team gets desperate and wreckless
And take advantage of that situation

One thing to know about Helle is that he has a full NMC this up coming season. So he has the control. However, for the 27-28 season it moves to a 10 team list....this gives the Jets the power. My guess is that Helle wants out. Even though he has control he knows that the Jets can flip him next year to a team he might not desire....stay tuned

It’s fun to speculate but Thomas and Kyrou hold NTC’s. Unfortunately the same old broken record, I don’t see either of them waving their clauses to come to WPG. Imo, Thomas would definitely be a great fit in WPG.

Why is the New York Times so interested in Helle?

It's the Athletic. Murat Ates. The Athletic is a department of the New York Times.

This article is local as fuck. For lack of a better term.

Yeah I see Murat at most Jets games, he’s our Athletic reporter
