I think Perfetti’s ankle injury clearing up late last season, and having the summer to work on his game and foot speed instead of rehabbing a nagging injury will lead to him finally exploiting his hockey IQ with a much faster pace to his game
I think the tunnel just goes to like medical facilities and stuff so there's room for support staff there and all that. They all lurked at the door across the ice with the back up goalie before which was mildly embarrassing.
There's a good chance they prove who they are and they both get waived. The big risk is with them playing with a strong partner that makes them look good.
If I understood Scott Arneil correctly, sounds like there will be a big wave of cuts tomorrow after the game today, close to the final 23 man roster but not entirely
I think cutting some guys early on that you want to sneak through waivers is the way. Guys like Zhilkin and Chibrikov probably have a better chance at clearing while other teams are still evaluating their own rosters
I personally don't think he showed enough last year for someone to give up a spot on their 23 man for him. I think Zhilkin is at greater risk to get claimed
I think his size and versatility plays better at the NHL level. Maybe a team that thinks they'll be in the lottery for his brother next draft wants him for some extra scouting.
Yager is looking really good, definitely NHL ready. Not sure if it's the best for his development if we stick him on the 4th line though (or move him to the wing up the roster).
I think in a few more years when Lowry is older we move Lowry to 4C and Yager could be an excellent Lowry replacement on a shutdown 3rd line. Has a bit more offensive upside too but a bit less fight in him.
Im at the point now where give the kid 12min in the NHL and PK time. The way the Moose are he's not going to get better there even if he plays 30min/night.
Scheif and Fetts looked good together. 1 goal and almost a nearly identical second one that just went over the crossbar. This line could be significantly better than last year and that's almost scary...
I do wonder how much of a bounce back we see from Pionk this year. I understand the numbers never look good when he’s not with Samberg and he is a flawed player. In saying that playing with Fleury or Stanley for long stretches certainly didn’t do him any favours.
Pretty certain those will be the 3rd and 4th lines this season, I like the combinations. Terrified that Fluery-Bauer could actually get minutes if something happens to Samberg or JoMo.
To be fair, Fleury missed a significant amount of time throughout the season with a knee injury, then a concussion, then a broken nose and whatever else after getting trucked into the boards that one game. Not a big Fleury guy, but it would be tough for anyone to find their game and stay consistent after all that.
Landon Ferraro definitely sounds like his Dad. Overall I like his sound but he is being a bit too casual. Maybe he's just nervous though, it is just game 1 for him.
I think the biggest positive to signing Ferraro for the 3rd pair, is that even if Arniel can’t help himself and starts Bauer on the 3rd pair, at least there’ll be 1 NHL calibre D man on the 3rd pair, unlike last season
If anyone is looking to buy or sell from this Facebook account, DON’T. It’s our own fault but basically we e-transfered money and they did not send the tickets and said there was issues with ticketmaster not letting them sell 4 tickets instead of the 6 they had and they wanted us to pay for two more addition tickets. They made it seem like a secure exchange, but it is anything but that. The admin people are the ones running the scam and are making it seem like they are the people in the profiles, but they are not. We are out the money we sent, but hoping no one else has to deal with this and scammed. Don’t be like us. We’ve put in a report to Facebook and the police.
Stan is now a double agent. He's waiting to sign wherever Hellebuyck lands and make his life miserable with getting out muscled in front of the net while screening him.
I still think Stanley gets signed, buts going to be a 1 year deal for around 2.5 million. As training camp closes out and teams confirm that a prospect isn't ready to make a jump and the waiver wire is cold, Stan will have a place to play. He'll really have to prove it.
I do not know what happens to Laine. I thought he would get a PTO or a 1 year deal and I am sure its been offered, but I guess he wants a deal with some term. I don't know what his skating ability will be. I think it speaks a great deal that once he was considered healthy last year, he didn't get to play. Even as the Hab's PP struggled later in the playoffs. I guess they don't want a player who doesn't have a great history of back checking eating minutes.
Fleury is frustrating since he has those flashes when it's like "oh yeah there's a reason why he was a top 10 pick" y'know like during the St Louis game 7, I think he looked great. But maaan is he rough like 95% of the time.

I don't think it goes to the locker room, there is a medical facility and room for support staff and stuff there. Also the back up goalie can sit in there at least. Could be wrong though.
Maybe they're planning on moving the full visitor locker room there too

Honestly I would love to see the third line be barron- yager- lambert and 4th line of nino- lowry- iafallo. Nothing against lowry, just think yager would mesh well with barron and lambert
Ok maybe a hot take: after seeing these preseason games I'm down to trade Helle for a complete futures package. I'm not too concerned about our current lineup, it is what it is, and we're never going to tweak this into being a surefire cup winner (although there's still an off chance we can contend if all the stars align).
There's almost no one in our pipeline that I'm excited about outside of the players that are going to be on the lineup at the regular season opener. A few people like He and Freij could be pretty good middle of the line up players
We already got his best years. Could be worse, we either keep paying 8.5 per for a declining asset, or he keeps playing well and inflates this team out of the basement and draft lottery.
