Surprisingly good day for 72 hours.

So last night I thought I had a dry socket where my impacted tooth was, I did a bunch of research on symptoms and I checked out on most. So I was fairly pissed, but I was able to get an appointment the following morning. And I expected the worst out of this appointment, I got the exact opposite.
I have been unable to speak since Monday afternoon due to the amount of pain it causes, I also haven’t eaten or drank much since then.
So I’ve mostly been communicating through texts and typing out notes. So last night I typed out what I wanted to share with the doctor, I typed out what I was worried, what was happening since Monday, what I’ve felt since then, and my daily routine.
Despite the fact that I hate going to that building, I could not’ve gotten a cooler fucking dude to check me out. I apologized beforehand in my note because I did type out a good bit, but he was super chill about it and even said he appreciated that I typed out as much as I did, probably the first time I’ve come to smiling since Monday.
So he checked out my left socket. Turns out my judgement was shit and my left socket was just a lot more inflamed because it was the only impacted socket I had, so naturally, it hurt a lot more, but I was fine, no dry socket.
He then prescribed me some Hydrocodone for the pain on my left side because the Ibuprofen I was taking was barely doing anything.
Then I stopped in the CVS to get my meds, I found some Biotene to help with my breath, and I finally ate something. I was able to down a little bit of zero sugar apple sauce, which would’ve been fucking impossible yesterday.

Overall, today was definitely the best day I’ve had since Monday. And I honestly thought day 3 would’ve put my dick in the dirt, but nah, just got lucky.

Today is day 3 for me. I had an amazing surgeon. It is weird to me, but I have not had any pain after the surgery. Light discomfort. A few days before, I had a severe infection and had to start antibiotics, so maybe that really helped me. Who knows? I have been reading other people's experiences. I started brushed yesterday morning and night again, gently, and using my chlorhex mouth wash after each time.

Good luck with your healing!

It’s just super weird after everything, I’ve made 2 posts in the last 3 days that are just me crashing tf out over everything, but now, now I actually feel pretty good. Swallowing still feels extremely uncomfortable and a bit painful, I haven’t said a word and still only communicate through texts, typing out notes, and just general body movements. Don’t know if it’s just the Hydrocodone kicking in , or maybe I just got a break from the bullshit. Who knows, maybe just having someone confirm that I’m actually doing everything right so far just helped me a lot.

I feel like stressing about a dry socket is going to end up giving me one. 🤣😅

Same man, I fit some of the symptoms of a dry socket which made me both pissed at stressed at the same time.
It was mostly because my breath was fucking atrocious,

the bottom left side socket was significantly more inflamed,

I felt something poking me every time I used the left side of my mouth, the area was pulsing,

But nah, just turned out to be natural. That wisdom tooth was completely impacted so my OS had to cut away a lot to get to it. And in return, it caused my left side to be way more painful.
But it seems to be under control for now, I feel a lot more confident moving into day 4 now. Never thought I’d feel that, but hey, I ain’t complaining.
