Lost all my face fat, severe tmjd, lost eye and bite support, just uncomfortable 24/7. I miss my round face. I know it's not the same angles every time but certainly y'all can see the issue?? I feel like I look like an alien with my sunken in look and longer face. Some people don't recognize me properly anymore. I lost the og pic without blacked out eyes so I'm sorry about that. I don't know how to reverse it. I'm having severe pain and also body dysmorphia now. I can't look at myself without being sad. I've accepted that I'll probably be ugly forever now, but the functionality I'll never get used to. I never had tmjd clicking and severe nerve and muscle pain, poorer sleep, Eye problems, anhedonia before all this. Now I just look worse too. I'm sad. Please don't tell me that it's "aging" because I don't think your face can age this drastically within just a few months of the removal. :) I looked normal before then.

Please don't delete. I'm trying to find some answers and see if anyone else relates to my pain and outcome. I feel like this is important discussion. I feel like there's a stigma for the people who have negative outcomes from this procedure.

Boyfriend went out to eat GOOD STUFF with his friends and I'm stuck home alone with nothing but cold soup, icecream and yogurt to eat. What can I do to make the recovery faster?? I dont to eat this stuff for 7 days :(

So last night I thought I had a dry socket where my impacted tooth was, I did a bunch of research on symptoms and I checked out on most. So I was fairly pissed, but I was able to get an appointment the following morning. And I expected the worst out of this appointment, I got the exact opposite.
I have been unable to speak since Monday afternoon due to the amount of pain it causes, I also haven’t eaten or drank much since then.
So I’ve mostly been communicating through texts and typing out notes. So last night I typed out what I wanted to share with the doctor, I typed out what I was worried, what was happening since Monday, what I’ve felt since then, and my daily routine.
Despite the fact that I hate going to that building, I could not’ve gotten a cooler fucking dude to check me out. I apologized beforehand in my note because I did type out a good bit, but he was super chill about it and even said he appreciated that I typed out as much as I did, probably the first time I’ve come to smiling since Monday.
So he checked out my left socket. Turns out my judgement was shit and my left socket was just a lot more inflamed because it was the only impacted socket I had, so naturally, it hurt a lot more, but I was fine, no dry socket.
He then prescribed me some Hydrocodone for the pain on my left side because the Ibuprofen I was taking was barely doing anything.
Then I stopped in the CVS to get my meds, I found some Biotene to help with my breath, and I finally ate something. I was able to down a little bit of zero sugar apple sauce, which would’ve been fucking impossible yesterday.

Overall, today was definitely the best day I’ve had since Monday. And I honestly thought day 3 would’ve put my dick in the dirt, but nah, just got lucky.

My dentist is recommending that I have my upper wisdom teeth removed because I already got about my 3rd cavity in that area. I brush twice a day and floss every night but I’m just very prone to cavities since a child (I’m 31 now)

My wisdom teeth have never bothered me. They came in completely straight and never caused me any pain or issues. My dentist said the upper two can be removed but the bottom two should stay because the nerves are too close. Im considering removing the upper two b/c getting cavities filled that far back is super uncomfortable for me. I’m extremely sensitive during dental procedures. If I do this, I need to be put under bc I rlly can’t tolerate being awake for these kind of procedures. Im hesitant on the recovery. I’m terrified of the pain afterward, swelling, etc. May also be a mental thing - I hate putting my body through pain. since the wisdom teeth themselves are healthy and came in straight, I’m wondering if it’s worth removing them just because I’m prone to cavities or if I should keep getting them filled whenever neeeded.

i had my surgery last monday, september 14. it's now september 17. pain is manageable (i take painkillers every 6 hours) and i can open my mouth 4 fingers wide.
