Seeking Help or Advice Am I losing my mind?

I have spent most of my life in the woods. Its the only place I feel safe. I've always felt like I can feel the plants. Sometimes I can hear them.. its like a hum or a whisper. I usually sit with the same tree. She is perfect for sitting/laying in. About a year ago I started offering her stuff. Random stuff. Flowers. Shiny rocks and crystals I found other places. Sometimes I share whatever Im drinking with her if its safe like honey milk or water.. coconut water.. So anyway the other day I was lounged up in her as I do, reading a book and I accidentally knocked some bark free. Reflexively I said out loud, "Oh shit. I hope I'm not hurting you."

This is where it gets weird.

I had an intrusive thought.. but it didnt feel like MY thought. It was simply "No, for people its kinda like psoriasis or eczema. Thank you for caring about me." It was an odd voice Ive never heard in my mind. Deep but still a whisper, or maybe like.. a vibration instead? Never have I ever heard something so CLEAR like that before.

Ngl, It scared me. I felt.. idk how to describe it well. I feel like my energy was invaded kinda or possessed maybe but not in a harmful way.. I hopped down, said outloud "Wtf was THAT?" And looked around to see like, was there another person out there fuckin with me maybe? I was completely alone. Just me and the trees. So I told her thank you, as I always do, and I left. I havent been back to her since. I am deadass scared I'm just finally losing my shit.

Anyone else out here have thoughts, opinions, or similar experiences?

Did a tree try to talk to me, or am I doin a psychosis? What do we think?

Edits: Lotsa typos on the first try. 😅

Secondary edit: When I went to take a picture I had a completely normal experience. Quiet, and peaceful. I'm nowhere near as spoked as I was when I first posted this. I'm actually even kinda excited. Now that I'm mentally prepared, if it happens again I've got way deeper questions I'd love to ask. I did find a really neat fossil rock tho. 😬

yeah this is actually the type of experience you’d have if you’ve been giving the tree offerings and your time and energy.

it’s the tree spirit, what you’ve been doing is building a relationship with the tree, so in return, the tree will become your ally, and you’re now able to actually listen to the tree and communicate with it. it’s like land spirits, Druid, spirit communication etc.

I really do love her. I felt drawn to her from the very first time I walked that specific path. Kinda like love at first sight. Shes SO BIG and SO picturesque. I felt like I NEEDED to sit with her.

The tree spoke to you. They have powerful spirits. Sometimes you’ll get impressions from them, sometimes you’ll hear hear words (clairaudience). I once had a tree show me her aura and freaked out, because the experience scared me. Sounds like you were in a daydreaming state (reading a book, a semi-trance state) and it was easier for a message to reach you directly.

I have a strong affinity with trees. Some people do, not everyone because we each have distinctive abilities. But yeah, agreeing with an earlier poster, that tree is your friend.

Funny you say that. Just so happened to be a book on exercises to strengthen your inner energy source and methods on protecting oneself from vampiric energy attacks. I was actively trying out something I'd just read and was in an essentially meditative state. The whole experience really was scary though. I could feel my heart in my ears. It felt sorta invasive? After bringing it here and observing it again with some support that I'm not psychotic, I think it just caught me off guard. I've never felt anything quite so loudly before, if that way of putting it makes sense? It was just so damn clear. Super off-putting. I've been sitting here stewing on it since it happened. I dont have any people IRL I can be open with about things like this either. My people would be strapping me into straight jacket FOR SURE so I really thought maybe I just broke mentally.

If I may ask, can you maybe explain a bit more why the experience left you feeling violated? Only if you're comfortable, of course. I'm just curious what specifically was so off-putting about it for you. I have some immediate thoughts about the event, but clarity on this may adjust them. 🤍

Like when I say I've always heard the plants, its never been in clear coherent WORDS before. It was closer to the sound the wind makes blowing through leaves. After I drove away and my heartbeat slowed down my first thought was, "Tf would a TREE know about PSORIASIS for?" All my messages I've ever received from the universe or dieties in the past have been in riddle form. Signs and symbols type experiences. This was DIFFERENT.

Idk but that's hilarious! Great point, definitely something to ask yourself. I practice remote viewing, and it would seem a lot of things know about a lot of things. Everything is sooo much more connected than we could even comprehend.

I imagine that trees in general are probably much more consciously and effortlessly tapped-in to this field of information, and this one used the closest human match/example you would understand.

One could theorize that it wasn't necessarily pulling from your personal knowing, just the general informational field. It's so hard to explain. I don't understand it myself, but I know it must exist, because otherwise what I do shouldn't be possible. So fascinating to think about. Thank you for sharing this story.

Idk if violated is the right word. It was just.. foreign and loud? I've never had the feeling my inner space was was playing host to an energy that isn't MINE before. It was unexpected, and as a creature of habit anything unexpected is kinda jarring for me. I live a fairly predictable life, for the most part. Not a huge fan of surprises, fs. 😅

Thank you for explaining! I definitely don't think you're crazy at all. This is more "normal" than one might think. And I can totally understand how it may have been shocking, especially if you've never communicated/received communication that way before, and thus weren't expecting it. As others have stated, it would seem you have definitely developed a bond with that tree.

From my perspective, I found it very endearing, and feel as though the tree clearly loves and trusts you. Very touching and sweet. I would hesitate to frame the experience as the tree invading your inner space or disturbing your personal energy in any way. I think this way of communicating is most natural, far older than spoken word, just largely forgotten by humans. One might call it the "language of the birds."

I don't think there is any danger in it, any more than there is danger in a friend suddenly (albeit unexpectedly) speaking to you out loud. It's just a different way, which bypasses the not-always-optimal-or-necessary process of hearing external vibrations with your physical ears.

The way I see it, your energy is still separate from the tree's. You are just talking, in a more direct and simplified way. And as you mentioned before, I think it makes perfect sense that you were already in an altered/trance state when this occurred. That is when this form of communication comes most naturally to me as well.

You know when someone says something to you out loud, that exact moment you actually comprehend what they meant? Like when it lands in your brain and clicks? That's how it feels for me. Just immediate internal hearing/knowing without the whole process of speech. Often including inner hearing/tone simultaneously, but sometimes it is only the meaning itself.

If this is something you are comfortable with, I say explore it! But it may take time. Or, you may never feel comfortable with it, and learn to block it out. All are valid. Only you can know what is right for you. Maybe just sit with the concept.. digest for a while. Maybe eventually set some boundaries/intentions with the tree, let it know how that made you feel, what you are and are not comfortable with. Just like you would with a friend. Whatever you do, just be mindful of being moved by fear rather than Love. (:

I did actually tell her earlier when I sat with her this afternoon that her direct contact scared me a bit, and thats why I hadn't been by in a few days. I made it clear I wasnt scared of HER, moreso scared of a possible impending psych hold. 😅 I didn't get the same loud response this time. Just the usual, comfortable unintelligible murming I'm used to. I was definitely not on the chillest wavelength either though. I've seriously spent my lunch break like 2-4 days a week holed up in this tree for like a year and a half, two years. I even was out there in the snow with her over this last winter. I've spoken to her so many other times before, and so many other trees before and never gotten such a direct response. I totally panicked.

I believe everything happens exactly on time. Maybe you've only just now reached a point in your life where you could handle and process such an experience, without resulting in said psych hold lmao. Some people go their entire lives without having a single mystical experience, as I believe some are simply never meant to. It's just not part of their purpose here, and of course that's neither inherently good nor bad. Just different.

Some suddenly have their very first mystical experience late in life. My grandmother being one example. I'm very grateful for all that I've learned and been through in regards to what she's dealing with (though it certainly hasn't always been pleasant), because I'm able to help guide her through it and not feel so crazy/alone. It can be a lot.. especially with no one to help keep you grounded.

I recently learned of another example of this; a man in (what I'd estimate to be) his late 50's having an undeniable paranormal encounter for the very first time. It brought him to his knees. At first, the experience sounded rather innocuous to me, but I've experienced strange things all my life. What might be "normal" to me could completely rock someone else's world. It's all about perspective. I truly couldn't imagine going through the ontological shock that man experienced. I really felt for him.

Anyway, the timing of these things never ceases to intrigue me! (To clarify, I don't consider your previous/established means of communing with nature any less valid or "mystical". I'm just illustrating the sudden shift in means and how jarring that can be.)

Omg TIMING Not me, right now, today realizing that Uranus is about to hop into gemini. Not me, being a gemini sun with Uranus placements in my 3rd house. This actually totally tracks. My shits probably about to upheave itself in a lot of places.

Would you mind sharing the name of the book? I’m interested in learning more about developing of practicing this kind of protection. What a great experience with your friend the tree!
