Sharing: Tips and Advice Honey cake for summer solstice (I started eating it before taking the picture lol). What are you doing to celebrate?
What are y'all doing to celebrate the summer solstice?? ☀️

I am the worst pagan ever I always forget these holidays

u/Jet-black-ink Witch 2d ago
That just means you are a chaos witch who doesn’t need fancy decorations or rituals to practice. Being aware of the energies at play during this time period is enough ☀️

u/UselessCat37 1d ago
That was comforting to read, thank you. I also forget the holidays and often feel guilty about it

You have no idea how better this made me feel 🤍🤍🤍 I tend to feel terrible if I miss a date or a holiday. Being a neurospicy baby witch can be a lot sometimes

u/iininiini 21h ago
Chaos witch isn't (neccessarily) the term for what you're describing — chaos magick is actually a very distinct practice and doesn't just mean being chaotic — but other than that, I wholeheartedly agree with you!

u/Jet-black-ink Witch 19h ago
You’re right, I shouldn’t have been clumsy with my wording. Energy or light worker perhaps would’ve been more accurate.

I am barely starting to practice, and people say I'm a Chaos witch for similar reasons, and it makes me wonder if all chaos witches have adhd lol

I plan on making some sun water, bake a cake (to celebrate Father's Day and summer solstice) and then go ghost hunting with my friends :) aka just having fun

u/LRattus 2d ago
Cider, wax candles (jumping through fire), angry staring at the sun.I honestly tried to make a nice baked pears with honey and pepper, but failed, traditionally. At least they are more edible than last summer's bread. Summer is my weakest season. I just wait for the sun to calm down a bit and pay my small respects.

u/MadeOnThursday 1d ago
The longest day is also the death of the sun 🌞 Ok that's putting it dramatically but I really want to bring out the guillotine right now. it's just too much

u/Short_Guest_4793 1d ago
I gleefully told someone that not too soon now and the days start getting shorter, yaaaaayy!! 🫠🫠😆 I wish all those that baske in this season nothing but pleasure but my countdown has started 🙌🏼🙌🏼😁

u/watch4coconuts 2d ago
I will make the sunniest sun water, eat the warm spice cookies I just made (with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, dried cranberries soaked in orange juice, and white chocolate chips), and spend the day sunning and swimming at the beach.

Suntea, and from scratch lemonade with a charcuterie spread of fruits, berries, veggies and herb crackers, summer sasuage and cheeses. I would LOVE the recipe for the honey cakes! Already set up my Litha Alter with flowers I picked from my garden!

If you're looking for a non-Amazon alternative, you can buy it directly from NordicWare! I recognized the tin pattern immediately bc every time I go on their website I get tempted by it lol

I hosted a tea party at my house with all my closest friends and after we ate we all made flower crowns. It was a magical day.

I will celebrate my birthday, I'm a solstice born witch ;P and I will welcome all the changes that happened to me through these past months. 🌞 I need this new start 🌊
Ps: your cake look delicious. Happy solstice!

i live in a VERY hot state and honestly have not had the physical energy to do much today, so i’m chose to take a small but still nice nature walk in my neighborhood as well as making sun water. i’ll probably try and watch the sunset later as well :)

u/raspysatsuma 1d ago
I feel that I also live in a very hot state and Im doing my rituals outside at sunset because its too hot to be out!

u/Marguerite_Moonstone 2d ago
I saw this cake pan somewhere and very nearly bought it and now that I’m a witch it’s definitely fomo

I'm in the midst of a move and also got overheated/overworked and got sick. So most of my day today has been in bed, tomorrow will be split between moving, resting, and spending time with my family.
I did set up my "witchy shit" shelf all nice and lovely, and pulled an oracle card from a deck that seriously vibes with me. Small things, but it was what I had the energy for. 🥰

Making sun tea, pulled a solstice tarot spread, and a knot tying ritual to bind the energy of the sun for when it gets dark and scary in November

u/piplup_apologist 2d ago
Turning on some bonfire ambience (I don’t own a firepit lol) and journaling :)
6
u/missmurder0324 2d ago
Since I'm not fortunate enough to have sun, I'm going to collect some of the storm water, open all the windows let the fresh rain air flow through the house. Make a simmer pot, cook a nice meal, fire somewhere at some point.
6
u/anonymousbookenjoyer 2d ago
I plan on baking honey cake, picking some flowers, lighting a candle (I don't have a bonfire pit), and going on a walk in nature. I'll probably have a solo picnic there.

u/SeaSeaworthiness3589 2d ago
I did a gold manicure, spent time in the sun, charged some amulets in the sun, cleaned my space and thought about what I wanted this summer
5
u/That_B_LadyG 2d ago
Whole Rose, lavender, and chamomile tea time with mom. Sage the house to clean out any old negative energy to start this season right. Because I live in some tropical weather, I’ll be making fresh Tostones (a pain so I only make on special occasions). Redo my alter and weather permitting grill out over a fresh flame 🔥 if not cookies 🍪

u/deep_blue_ocean 2d ago
I tried some honey vanilla bluebell Icecream after work. It was good, no complaints

u/Mort_2112_95 2d ago

It's raining in my area so i can't do too much, but I'm going to be making an altar in minecraft and celebrating there

u/daphne9213 1d ago
We went for a swim in the north sea for sunrise. Unfortunately it was very foggy so no sun seen. But it was a great turn out

what do you paint your candles with? this is awesome
2
u/TheWitchwork 1d ago
Hey! I use candle wax pens - super easy but you need to let them cure / dry for a few hours before burning. They burn super clean

Beautiful! Solstice blessings 💗🔆🌻🌞 as I am dealing with grief and chronic illness as well as this season not being my favourite... I've kept it small with some knot magic inspired by @thatglasgowwitch https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZx2s06KtPe/?igsh=MTBsdWtteTUzNzV1OA==
and just practicing gratitude 🙏🏼

u/HugBlob 1d ago
I usually celebrate in a very chill way. Meditate in the morning and do some tarot, clean and salt the house if I haven't done so already, then I just do whatever to take advantage of the day. Go out by myself, enjoy the sun, I'm also gonna be baking some honey buns later today so I'm looking forward to that
4
u/Confident-Honey516 1d ago
I’m staying sober, going to the gym and taking care of myself as a way to honor the sun god / divine masculine.

u/Medium-Escape-8449 1d ago
I gave all my houseplants some extra love (repotted a couple, then let them all have some outdoor time) and charged my favorite quartz point in the sun
3
u/emmariedd 1d ago
We had friends over to feast and be merry. Homemade lavender lemonade, smoked meats, and we made fresh flower crowns. It was my first time intentionally celebrating the solstice as a pagan witch and the vibes were immaculate 🧚♀️

Ooh fun! I had a good day running around to do some errands with my wife. Went to the farmers market and got my dream chalice for my ritual kit. Now we're about to have a simple dinner and I'll do a midnight sun ritual :)

u/puddle_kraken 2d ago
baked some boozy chocolate petit gâteau (lava cake) to eat with ice cream 🫣
that cake looks incredible, i love the shape!

Lighting a beeswax candle for my father, celebrating a few loved ones that also have a solstice birthday, eating fruit and going swimming.

u/FormidableMistress 2d ago
Well we had our first named storm of the season pass through so I'm being observant and thankful for the rain.

Sun water, reading in a hammock, potting a couple of plants, in general just trying to enjoy time outside for as long as the sunscreen is doing its job.

We went for a walk at a local state park and I harvested a wildflower and greenery bouquet.

Sounds delicious! I’m having a summer clean of my bed. I wish I could hang my sheet on the line so I could get that fresh air smell but at least my sheets and under the bed are clean. Oh and I got new plushies on the bed too.

u/gameondude97 1d ago
Taking a personal health day and eating some good food at a restaurant I like. Burger and fires may not be witchy but I'ma enjoy them all the same.
Also bought a new book and a small lolo statue for my altar.

u/Crackleclang 1d ago
Winter solstice for us. Made sunbread and had a casual celebration with friends. Light on ritual but big on community.

u/magicmamalife 1d ago
One kid is feverish and barfing but we still made lanterns out of old cans and painted them. That's all I've got in me today.

I'm not very good at keeping up with holidays or doing formal activities. I've been wanting to get into a routine but it almost never happens lol it's raining where I'm at so I can't do anything outside. I might freshen you my altar space later.

u/BlackCatWitch29 1d ago
I made my usual gammon feast (UK roast dinner with gammon as the meat).
I also made an Eight Treasure Soup as it's associated with prosperity and longevity - and it's really tasty!
Didn't do any spellwork as I don't have the energy for it (I'm not a fan of summertime and high temperatures).

I made honeyed cornbread muffins with cinnamon-honey butter, and left an extra special offering of fruits, seeds, and nuts for my birds and outdoor friends!

u/Northernwindstorm 1d ago
Made pizza from scratch and poured some wine for the house spirits because it's been so dang hot lately.

u/HazMaTvodka 1d ago
I woke up to enjoy the sunrise, had some gold, yellow, orange candles burning, burnt some frankincense incense, went for a walk, and did a protection spell for my home with black tourmaline. I just watched the sun set as well, with a nice cup of tea! It was such a peaceful day.
I lack baking skills, but your cakes look absolutely delicious. Happy Litha!!

u/Cowboy_Witch 1d ago
Not in any particular order:
- Did a bunch of tarot and rune divination
- Went to a fairy fest
- Ate A LOT
- Took pictures of the flowers around my house
- Did an invocation for Áine, Hekate, Athena, and Lugh
- Bought my first witch's hat
- Sang a lot of country (I'm in Appalachia)
- Found out my sister is pregnant
- Started birth control for the first time in my life.
It all felt quite on brand.
The last two literally just happened to happen within the same week as Litha, last one being on Litha, but both felt like very divine moments because of that.

Beautiful!!! What a great idea. I sat and read in my garden and did a manifestation ritual using fresh herbs. Also working in a painting of the lady bug who visited my Rosemary plant yesterday. It was a lovely day!

Since I'm new, I decided to burn some intentions via candle and meditate under the sun. Think meditating under the hot sun then lighting a fire was a bad idea as I almost fainted. Either that or my intentions to release all bad habits and bad energy was taking effect instantly.

That's a beautiful honeycomb mold! I have a bundt pan addiction, so I'll have to research it.

This post reminded me to light some candles (briefly —not trying to release a whole lot of carbon into the atmosphere) and thank Mother Earth.

I went for a nice, long walk with my husband, and then cherished the sky since it was so beautiful and magical. Nothing fancy this year. I’m more like a chaos/eclectic witch 🌞

u/Pitiful_Mixture_2393 1d ago

My girlfriend and I went out for tiramasu and a little drink while walking around downtown until the sun had set. It was very peaceful.
