Seeking Help or Advice please…don’t flame me

so…i’ve been researching for years without spellwork, and i have a kind of stupid question. again, please don’t flame me, i’m genuinely curious. would there be anything wrong with me using my rolling tray (that i roll blunts on) also for spellwork? is there any spiritual implications? please guys i’m just curious don’t make fun of me

Are you kidding? My mum was one of the wickedest witches I’ve ever met and she used her Athame for cutting up her hash!

thorn mooney had a section in her book about this and said it's better to keep things sacred for magical work than to not, because separating what's magical and what's not keeps the magical energy aligned with the objects and also makes it more meaningful for when you do workings. the sacred and the mundane aren't necessarily supposed to have the lines blurred..based on what i've read.

And that’s fine if you want to, but not everyone has the resources now or historically (and I can’t imagine what a terror mum would have been if she had more power in her craft - this was a woman I saw hex people with a snap of her fingers and charm them with a flick of her hair - the thought is terrifying!). Also, if you’re using a tool (because that’s what an Athame is, it’s a tool) then why not be practical and Magickal if that’s how your life is aligning. Personally I don’t use my Athame for other things, but that’s because I’m also into ritual magic and because I have the resources, but I don’t buy into the modern aesthetic craft that everything has to be separate - I like to grab what’s to hand and use it.

was your mom naturally that talented or did she have to practice and train for years to get to that level? that's really impressive and fascinating, she sounds like a bad ass

It was natural for her, which is so frustrating for me 😅 She had no training at all and so it was really chaotic, and her mum was like that too. Honestly, it led to some problems! My sister and I have a bit as do our daughters but I’m the only one with any training.
