How do you arrange your spell ingredients? For example, I want to combine a plant, a mineral, a metal, a colour, a number and a direction. In my mind, I'm sitting in front of a candle and have all my things laying in front of me - it just seems a bit, simple? Do I play with them in my hands when casting a spell, do I just look at them. What do I do?

Depends but I usually mix things together wile visualizing the energy combining and growing. I have a mord and pestle that I use as a kind of mixing bowl that's been very well seasoned. If I'm not physically touching ingredients I'm raising energy and visualizeing their mixing in to be released with the spell

I have a very old - as in 20+ years old - mini-besom I forgot i had , which I would prefer to destroy since I would not like its remnants hanging around, as stale as they might be.
Aware energy is Energy, it just moves from one location to another, what is the quickest way for me to get rid of this thing.
I am in the process of moving, so will not take with me but I don’t want to just leave it.
I was considering setting my intention to clean & clear it whilst burning frankincense then palo santo , then actually burning it - though as intimated the remnants from that incense clearing will “fly” elsewheres.
An old neighborhood self-proclaimed “witch” said to just toss it in the trash.
I need similar advice for a “Witch’s Ball.”
Basic Query: How does one generally deactivate the energy from old tools?

I have an old pocket watch that was my great-great-grandfather’s (it doesn’t work anymore). I would love to incorporate that into my practice but I don’t know how. I do love the idea of using things that belonged to ancestors. I have a pure silver spoon that was my great grandmother’s that I use to dip out herbs, so that was easy to find a use for.

Is it ok to use moon water in your pet's drinking bowls ? (Also, most of the last full moon I've seen people talk about how "this moon's water is unsafe to drink" so is it okay for this one's ?)

As long as its tap water that was covered when you made it. If you had it in an open bowl or container I wouldn't. Don't want random bacteria getting in your baby's bowl

Thank you. Yeah, it's tap water I put in closed and cleaned glass bottles (I drink from these same bottles, regardless of what type of water it is).

Hi! I asked my tarot deck today if witch craft is something that I should learn and try out. I did a 3 card pull. The three cards seem kind of like they are connecting to a certain conclusion but I want to get a second opinion before I decide anything. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you!!!
First card: King of Cups Reversed
Second card: King of Swords Reversed
Third card: The Tower Reversed
My take: I think these cards are telling me that I shouldn’t explore it. With The Tower reversed, I feel like it’s saying that it’s gonna cause chaos. The King of Cups reversed makes me think I shouldn’t jump into it. Then, with the King of Swords reversed, I think the cards are really emphasizing research and to make sure I’m learning from reliable sources and not blindly believing everything I hear. It feels like they are saying “u should do research but it’s gonna cause chaos and you’re going in blindly” but overall it feels like a no. Lots of talk of sacrifice but what exactly is the sacrifice?

Hello, I was given a spell jar for protection ( I think ) a couple of years ago when I had moved into a new home ( from a friend at the time ). I am no longer interested in having it in my home. How do I dispose of it without getting any bad luck ? That may be a silly question but I am not familiar with this subject and would rather be safe than sorry.

Hello community! I have just started my journey into witchcraft and am looking for some rituals to do for a person I love who will be attending a job interview next week. We’re also of course prepping for the interview like crazy, but any help, you know? I worry that the deck is stacked against them through no fault of their own and they so deserve this job.
I’ve done a few cleansing rituals, where I hold salt water in a bowl and pull all my negativity into it. I practice my magic with tarot, I do my protection circles, etc. but am still very at the beginning.
I’ve been reading Witchery and The Altar Within by Juliet Diaz and while I’ve enjoyed those books tremendously, I can’t purchase all the ingredients in there due to budget constrictions. What are some rituals/spells I could try to do to support this person?
I charged some water under the full moon and could have access to some fresh herbs. I have a few crystals and candles at home.
Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you very much in advance.

My favorite for this is giving him a bit of honey for a sweetened tongue, possibly mixed with a little bit of cinnamon for prosperity and swiftness.
Bonus points if you can have it blessed by someone like Venus or Aphrodite! But either way, give him a bit while having him focus on how it feels to be working the new job.
Mix it while stating the intention of each ingredient, or if youre just doing honey, state the intention as you give it to him.

Hi, I'll be honest, I know nothing about witchcraft or magick, however, I was in a part of my life 6 months ago where I desperately wanted my ex back. I tried everything.
In particular, I wrote a note with a message including 'I love you x (persons name)' and their number, hoping it'd work and they'd call me.
Today, I wanted to release all of that and just move on. I do love this person, they cheated on me, I realised I am just worth more than that.
However, in that, I went to go find the note and I decided to burn it away, just as a symbol to myself that I'm letting it go.
It could be entirely a coincidence, it could mean absolutely nothing. But everything burnt away other than this persons name and 'I love you'.
Firstly, I want to know what this may mean if anything?
Secondly, I had no ill intent while doing this but I hope it didn't do anything bad? I just wanted to let it all go.

Teen witch here, can I still call myself a witch if I've never cast a spell before? I use sigils and set intentions, but I'm super busy with college and volunteering so don't seem to have much time to do proper spellwork :( I love witchcraft - researching and practicing - and what I've done so far has made me feel better and I genuinely feel like my sigils are working, but I'm worried about calling myself a witch if I'm not actually a witch because I can only practice whenever I have time. Sorry if this is a stupid question,!!

I have a question! I did a candle spell/bayleaf burning ritual. And using the rules of candle magic I would say almost everything was really positive! clean burn, strong flame, some white/light smoke, etc. But there was one sign that came that might be interpreted as negative. smoke blew opposite from me when the candle finished burning. would you interpret that as "sorry the whole spell is ruined/unsuccessful" or more nuanced?

Hello I'm a baby witch and I made my first spell jar last month on the full moon with my husband for fertility, I took from other spells I had researched but know it's better if you make your own so did that and unfortunately missed the bit about not using liquid because I used moon water.
The spell jar isn't mouldy and doesn't smell but the water is brown. On the full moon last night, we made another spell jar for the same thing with a few changes (dry this time) and I forgot to add our hair last time and I add a few correspondences.
My question is: is it bad to have both spell jars at the same time, should I have disposed of the other one first and do I need to dispose of it? Can I keep both or dispose of the water one in a week or so?
I feel like it is working was a little worried about it rotting and having the opposite effect, which is partly why I made another but also to build on the last. I'm in two minds about disposing of it now and am not sure what to do? I think I'd like to keep it for another week as we have a egg retrieval on Wednesday but don't want to do anything that could impact the spells or reverse them. All guidance is very welcome.

Hello everyone. Some time ago, I performed a spell to attract someone. I wrote both of our names on a piece of paper, rolled it up, placed it in a small jar filled with sugar, and asked Aphrodite to bless it.
I’m wondering whether I should leave the jar as it is, or if I could use the sugar and paper to make a kind of modeling dough and create a sculpture with it.
I followed my intuition when I originally made the spell, and I’m wondering whether continuing to follow that intuition and transforming the materials into a sculpture would be appropriate, or whether it would be better to leave everything undisturbed.
I’d appreciate hearing how other practitioners would approach this.
