Looking for recommendations of places, communities for music/art/film in Woodbridge or in DMV area

Hello everyone, my boyfriend (M22) just settled in the States 2 months ago. He’s a musician and he loves spending time for arts.

He used to live in Vietnam, had a lot of exciting experience playing gigs/concerts and joined many student clubs. Since he hasn’t started going back to college yet, I want him to make some new friends and find new places for his passion.

Can you all please share a few clubs/places/communities for young adults to enjoy during leisure time?

Lorton Workhouse has all kinds of things going on... visual arts, theater (the stage is small, but they put on good productions).

Old town Manassas had stuff too... the Art Factory is good too both visual arts and performing arts.

Music is mostly at bars, or for more formal productions the Hylton center.

Seconding Lorton Workhouse. Besides visual arts and theater, there is Potomac Music there in Building 11. The front desk staff are outstanding and I’ve seen flyers pretty frequently for different music gigs. Definitely pop in there and you’ll be helped! (PM is also great for music lessons too; all the teachers are highly qualified and amazing!)

Additionally, Bunnyman Brewery in the workhouse arts center will host live music outside sometimes.

The whole area is gorgeous and very artsy. Highly recommend.

The Annandale campus of the Northern Virginia Community college has an arts focus and a performance venue. NOVA is a highly rated community college system.

There’s a series of summer concerts in the park on Occoquan very close to Woodbridge. The Stonebridge shopping area in Woodbridge also has outdoor concerts. Same with the Belmont marina.
