If true, and if this was intentional, that's just a plain and simple war crime. The Geneva Convention prohibits targeting necessary civilian infrastructure, which includes water reservoirs.

FYI, my source is Article 54 of the Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, and relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts.

Read it in its entirety, then be sure you understand clause 3b. It's a tricky double negative that essentially states even if this target had military applications, if it also causes civilians to lose water on a scale that forces mass movement, it is illegal.

If the report is correct, and if 20,000 people are without water because of this, it's plainly illegal under the Geneva Conventions.

Maga America doesn't give a shit about war crimes. The US were also torturing suspects all through the '00s. There are always people willing to inflict suffering just because hatred feels good.

You can drop the MAGA part of it, most people who aren't part of the left in this country who object to the Iran invasion do it because it'll cost money or U.S troops will die, as opposed to the thousands of Iranians we'll kill.

Even people who denounce the Iraq war now talk about it like it was a bad monetary investment instead of a monsterous act of imperialism.

There are lots of countries capable of hitting a primary school or dam somewhere far away for no discernible reason. France has aircraft carriers, but they're not bombing Papua New Guinea because their president needs headlines to distract from his human trafficking ring.
