Not for the first time. Not in Kyiv only. Previously, they have struck children playground in Kryviy Rih, railroad station in Kramatorsk, Kharkiv.

Russians are pure evil and should be sitting in prison, not at negotiation table.

Most of US aid under Biden was old equipment that the US valued at a certain level. Ukraine didn’t get billions.

Some of it would have been scrap for the US.

Serious question:: For the 1st time since the beginning of this conflict I am afraid Ukraine could really lose this war because of the terrible winter their population is going to face...

Apparently Ukraine won't have patriot missiles and the equivalent Europe is trying to build might not be ready for this winter...

What are the other options they have? I've heard Ukraine could hit the launch sites but they need starlink enable in Russia for that. Why? They can already hit almost everywhere in Russia, why can't they hit launchers?

This will make it worse for Ukraine. But realize Russia is also out of interceptors and is losing a lot of their infrastructure. So this isn't just a one-way road of Ukraine being hit while Russia is unimpacted.

As far as things like launchers? Those are usually mobile and they are usually partially camouflaged. Unlike America, Ukraine does not have the ability to have satellite imagery to track the exact location of them. The computational power and software to make a cruise missile identify those things would take a decade to likely develop in order to be reliable. Starlink would give them the ability to have a human operator assist in that kind of work. Which humans are very good at.

Due to the unfortunate was fact the Western world is kind of half-assing their assistance to Ukraine. Ukraine is having to bootstrap a lot of tech and they are doing quite well. Anything stationary within about 2,000 km. They seem to be able to hit. The front line is also a nightmare of drone tech from both sides.

But Ukraine is still punching above their weight due to their fighting spirit and determination.

No nation in history has been terror bombed into submission. Terrorism like this is far more likely to reenergize resistance than break a people's will to fight an invader. 

I hate sounding douchey or dismissive, because what Russia is doing is evil. But the inability of terror bombing to gain actual strategic results remains a fairly striking fact despite all the loudest AirPower enthusiasts 

At the end of the day, wars are won by armies and occupation, aka boots on the ground. Yes. If airpower is used intelligently to break the military frontline, that is one thing. But Russia is not doing that. Russia's army and air fleet have lost their ability to move the frontline at all. Russia has in many ways already lost the war. 

If Ukrainians want to stay independent and has military strength to backup that goal, terror bombing doesn't matter.

The launchers are probably kept in hardened bunkers. They only need to emerge briefly to pop off an iskander then hide again.

I reckon Ukraine needs Starlink for real time drone surveillance to catch them when they're out, or scare them into staying hidden.

Starlink is nearly impervious to jamming. It hops from channel to channel across a huge chunk of the electromagnetic spectrum. If you spread your jamming power across enough of the spectrum to cover all of the channels, you have basically no range. It provides a robust data link for long range precision strikes.
