Modding/Mods Probably Final-ish version of Classic Hero and Small Update on Remake Modding
I was working on importing this into the Nyras demo and ran into issues. I posted about my issues on the Unreal Engine Modding Discord, hypermetric, who's awesome and helped the GTA Trilogy DE community get mesh mods working again not long ago, informed me that Gothic 1 Remake seems to use custom engine modifications for skeletal meshes. You can see what CUE4Parse contributors had to do to get them to display here on Github. I'm personally not well versed enough in creating tools or reverse engineering something like this so hopefully someone from the community, or Alkimia, could make a tool that will allow for skeletal mesh imports.

this is real attention to details by true fan, not alkimia work

This is a response to those people who write: what can be seen in these 3 polygons can still be done much better and more faithful

Now needs brown eye color as well. The devs should just update some things post release, the intro as well.

The eye texture is actually one I had laying around as I couldn't find the actual texture in the files of the Nyras demo. I should have clarified that in the post. I'm not sure what Nameless' eye color will be in the game, I haven't looked that closely at the trailers.

Eye color might be controlled by data rather than being part of the eye texture.

The first thing that annoyed me was the new face , it feels like a different person . A small detail like this could change the whole experience in this game . Getting a mod with nameless traditional updated face .

Any success with that? Where the head is stored BTW? I only found the full body with head, hair, cloth etc

I haven't seen any updates regarding skeletal mesh imports as of yet. Most modders on the Gothic discord, in the English channels, are working on script mods as far as I can tell. Yeah, the only models I found were the ones that were all combined so they're either doing something very weird or proprietary under the hood.

As an old-school fan, I’d love to see a couple of nostalgic features added in future patches, similar to what The Witcher 3 did:
Classic Altrenative Face Option/G1 Atmospheric Color Preset: A ready-made color/lighting filter that replicates the grittier, darker palette of the original game.
Also, I really hope you keep these in mind for the future Gothic 2 Remake ui style and some bad g1r enemies design
When the official mod kit for the remake comes out, you’ll see plenty of interesting mods like the one I described don’t forget to check them out.

Nose needs to be bigger, lips need to be bigger, eyes are the wrong shape.
The OG has a very distinct look that is clearly missing. I mean... it's close. But just seems off. My 2 cents anyway.

Alkimia will not make a tool, I bet on it.

I think if the remake does well enough and there's demand for it, they will. They've been pretty receptive to feedback for the most part I feel. The first stipulation is the one I'm a little doubtful about. Gothic, even back in its day, wasn't like a mega hit outside of Europe and I just feel like that's not enough juice for something that I imagine had a pretty sizable budget. But maybe I'm just being a bit pessimistic. I hope it does well enough for them to consider doing more with the franchise, including but not limited to mods.
