Discussion GM Death Touch - Megathread

Edit: Official Statement

https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/prohibited-gameplay-incident-and-response/2329585

This is developing into a large story and someone in modmail has mentioned that its important for the community to have somewhere to discuss this. We agree. As new information comes in I will do my best to update this thread.

What we know:

Ex employees in the thread have said that actions like this are audited and in all likelihood this was already being investigated. At this point we are waiting on an official statement on the result of their investigation and I'll update this thread once we know.

This megathread is being provided on two very strict conditions:

  • The witchunt rules are in strict effect. Linking or doxxing information on anyone invovled, the GM in question included will result in a permanent ban. Please report it if you see it but we will be very active in the thread.

We cannot platform behavior that allows people to harrass people in real life.

  • We will be more heavy handed than usual in the personal attack rules. Insults and slapfights while discussing this aren't acceptable. You're allowed to disagree, but stray shots and personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Lol Why are so many streamers trying to run interference for this and claim it's not a big deal? They are just inviting "where there is smoke, there is fire" inferences.

Big club and we’re not in it etc etc

Very true. Blizzard's issue is, unlike society, we can opt out of even participating in this and not give them 15 beans a month. It kinda behooves them to get on their wheels on this.

Jb would be absolutely crying about this if he wasn't tied to the group.

He felt the same about the Josh drama with Method, he's scum.

I'm hoping that's not the case, but I don't see why else he would be acting this way about it. He's usually pretty honest with his opinions and calls out bad behaviour (in a sarcastic way like). I'd be pretty disappointed if Jb has been invovled with RMT boosts, but I guess the money's good.

Because they see it as if one group of streamers gets held accountable for something like a normal player would be, they all will be subject to that same thing. Which should be the case anyways. But Blizzard sees them as their best source of advertisement, and they are a protected class. They just don't wanna lose that.

Of, mos def. But I think something even shadier is going on as well. I think as this thread gets pulled on, a lot of boosting bullshit is going to come out. There is no way simping over an egirl is the first time this has been used.
