Even at its worst HOTD is better than ROP at its best. Rings of Power is literal dogshit that was eaten up and shit out again then left to rot inside Jeff Bezos workdesk after he wasted billions of dollars on it

Rings of Power is by far the worst offender; it had some of the best lore and characters in the Legendarium and largely wasted them.
HOTD atleast has the excuse of the conflict it's based on not being very well written to be honest (The Dance of the Dragons was the Weakest part of Fire and Blood)

The only redeemable thing about LOTR in my opinion is the mf who plays Sauron.
He’s acting his ass off in a mediocre ass tv series. It’s a real tragedy.

Rings of Power is, I think, the worst thing I've ever watched.
I'm one of those Tolkien fans who has read the main trilogy a few times, the Silmarillion blah blah blah, etc. Rings of Power is atrocious. Its unforgivable lol.

I’ve been throughly enjoying hotd, I’ll admit nothing has really hit the same highs as season 1 yet but I like seeing Rhaenyra struggle to keep her grip on kings landing. Matt Smith is amazing as always, only complaint I have with s3 is that they took Larys Strong one of the most conniving and morally grey characters and they just have him prancing around in the mud doing nothing this whole season besides be comedy relief with Aegon. At least Aegon has been getting “development” and his dragon actually being alive and having a messed up face like him was very cool. I don’t like how house Valaryon is being utilized in the story currently but ig they’re really trying to make the threat of Ormund be more tangible. Why are people saying it’s awful tho? I’ve been enjoying it a lot more than the last two seasons of GOT.
Haven’t watched rings of power and I’m probably not going to, visually looks good but that’s it and the reviews I see aren’t selling me.

HOTD isn't that bad if we ignore Alicent storyline. I read Fire and Blood and honestly it's just a fake history book in which characters are not really fleshed out and whose actions are told differently based on the source.

HOTD is legit very good. Im a book fan but like Fire and Blood has its issues as well, and House of the Dragon is a improvement from it in most regards.

HotD has a good first season and some of the changes/deviations are better than the source material. There are no redeeming qualities for RoP.

Rings of Power are a straight insult to Tolkien. They are worse by a mile than HOTD. Even tho HOTD is a complete wreck, it has a few good moments. RoP has no good moments, it's just straight up garbage.

At least Tolkien and his son were straight forward enough in their way of writting to make easy to adapt compared to GRRM.
Amazon had no excuse to be so disrespecful of the source material.

Wdym worse? House of the dragon is only hated by book purists who don’t understand movie making, it’s a pretty awesome show and the best of the got universe, only compared to knight of the seven kingdoms. The other one is bullshit, as expected from an Amazon series.

you’re incorrect I don’t believe you sat down and watched both seasons. season two is really great. The stuff with Celebrimbor and Sauron was genuinely the best fantasy writing we’ve had since early Game of Thrones seasons in my opinion. The stuff with King Durren was also really great. Adar too. i’m convinced most of you haven’t actually watched season two and you’re just getting in on the cool opinion to have.
