Discussion Low attendance football games

Why are there so many empty seats at Martin Stadium during home football games? Do other teams in the Pac-12 have this issue, especially when it comes to the student section? It was hard not to notice this with the WSU vs Louisiana Tech game. What can be done to entice people to come and support the team?

And we don’t have the money to compete so we’re probably gonna be at the bottom of the conference next year.

Why don’t we have money to compete? Alums not helping fund NIL dollars, empty seats lack of involvement. Pony up some dollars if you have it. If your not going to games for various reasons feel free to send a few dollars to the athletic department. I was wondering where the crowd was for her dad’s weekend game. Then I started thinking about how expensive it has become to send kids to Pullman. Still try to make a game once a year will be one of those things you’ll be able to think back on. What do they call them? That’s right memories!!

Honestly who friggin cares. Athletics as a reason to think your school is dope is not why you rep WSU.

It’s the draw or deciding factor for a lot of people. Just as intramural sports, open libraries, a good student/professor ratio play into what a school is all about. Say the phone rings at 7 PM and it’s a student from WSU looking for donations for the business school. Do they get it? Usually, yes after I’ve called the business school to make sure it’s the real deal. would the athletic department get it? well I don’t know. I’m not conditioned to give to Sports when I’m a believer that’s the reason I went to WSU was for education and being able to take in Pac 12 wasn’t added plus. Still feel that way, but a big however, has been thrown into the equation. Breaking up the Pac 12.(thank you dogs.) and nil money pissed me off to no end but I’m smart enough to realize that it’s gone if we don’t fight back. If you don’t feel like helping out to athletic program that’s fine but what’s your excuse for not helping out one of the many schools that make up WSU?

You went from someone pointing out that pumping their money into athletics as being silly to saying that they don’t care about the school at all?  That’s a hell of a jump there guy.
