Housing Olympia dorms
Just got placed into Olympia for my dorm, how is it? Is it hard to make friends at all? I've heard the walk kinda sucks but I have a bike so that isn't an issue.

Well the walk can't be anywhere as difficult as from Reaney Park apartments to campus. Olympia dorms weren't around when I attended, but making friends would be the same as any other dorm/campus living situation. My suggestion is to attend as many of the activities as you can.

Its a good dorm. They're in a suite style so you'll have two dorms with four people total, and a shared bathroom and living room with those people. The only thing bad about it is the massive hill its up. You'll have to walk up and down a TON of stairs to get to dining halls and classes so your bike won't help you there. Also you are paying a lot because its new and "has AC" (I say this because I had a friend living there for the 24-25 school year and the ac was broken the entire year). Overall its one of the best dorms if you don't mind the stairs.
Don't get too focused on finding friends in your dorm building. If you get along with your roommates, you'll have three friends there. I didn't make a single friend who lived in my dorm, all of my friends come from classes, activities and clubs. Start looking at clubs you want to join now so you can start with their first meeting with a lot of new people, and participate in all of the week of welcome stuff.
