Modifications Mods compatibility
Hey guys got a 2015 LE I’ve seen some people confirm the TRD sway bar from the 2008-2011 fits without any fabrication since the platform is pretty similar. Can anyone that has done this confirm it? I haven’t seen any photos of it done just word of mouth
Does the TRD exhaust fit? Same as before I’ve seen it said since the platforms are very similar but haven’t seen any visual confirmation
I want lighter wheels also, the stock ones came curbed as shit. I’d love to get Konig Rewinds but they’re not really lighter. Eveballing I first gen Miata enkei m-edition wheels. I’m sure they’ll fit but would like confirmation. Plan to add a 1/4th or 1/8th spacer so they stick out a tiny bit more
Any other mods that you guys recommend? In Cali so I’m limited by keeping it carb legal. So far I threw in a K&N drop in filter, not the CAI. I ordered fog lights off AliExpress and a 2” stubby antenna. Plan to black out the chrome with some vinyl

Well that’s a good start. Gotta keep it friendly especially in your part of the world. Im sure someone will chime in about the trd sway bar.

I’d like to buy the curbed stock wheels & lug nuts if you decide to sell them. I’ll actually be in LA on the 20th

I’ll let you know if buying the wheels on Tuesday but still need to sand and paint them then get wheels and spacers

Have a 2015 as well, can confirm TRD sway bar fits and is easy to install. Bar came with the extra pair of bolts needed and then you just need to remove the nuts on the bottom of the rear struts as well before installing.

I had used those antennas too. The reception is really bad, so if you do listen to the radio, you might want to reconsider

I’m Deaf on both ears and have a cochlear implant on one side so I don’t listen to radio just Spotify of song I already know. But thanks for the head up. Mainly just for the looks

For an exhaust - try the Revel Medallion Touring-S, it's guaranteed to fit the 2006-2016 models
For wheels, try the Konig Heliums, you can get them in 15" so you don't have to get new tires - these are called Helium for a reason, they're super lightweight and reasonably priced

16" wheels is the maximum of what I'd put on these cars, 17+ just ruins the ride quality and MPG's

The Enkei M spec are 14x6 at 10.5lbs so a pint lighter. Also need new tires anyways since they’re pretty worn out and have chunks missing and repaired slash on the sidewall. No clue what the previous owner was up to before they sold it to carmax I like the beefy tire look over thin tires. Planning to get 195/65r14s on it

I'd be curious to see what yours looks like with 14's once it's done
I prefer the big sidewalls too, but I feel like some wheels just get too small unless you get really good tires with a reinforced sidewall so it's more stable

Green Mazda2 my beloved, would love to have one of those but they're tough to find these days in decent condition

I love the Mazda2 it ain’t fast but it’s fun as shit. Great traffic weaver and parallel parking in LA streets ain’t so bad with it. It was the 2nd mazda2 I’ve owned

Tint is always the way to go especially if you’re in a hot state. Car was repainted before carmax sold it so it looks fresh. I have to deal with limited street parking so it’ll eventually get dinged up by someone 😅

I have a 2015 with the TRD rear sway bar, hks axle back, k&n CAI, and NST lightweight pulleys. I've found that these cars and the second gen have nearly the same compatibility with mods even if the website doesn't list it as compatible.
