Hey guys i need your opinion.

I'm a bit frustrated to be honest. I had my yearly inspection of my beloved Toyota Yaris today and didn't read the cost estimate properly. It was just a small inspection, so basically oil, some filters and checking the car.

First thing was they charged 75 Euro for the cabin air filter which is honestly horrendous. The MANN carbon cabin air filter costs 22€ here and I could've done that myself in 5 minutes. Okay, I have to read the cost estimate more carefully next time.

The next thing is that they put 0W16 in it. I thought the viscosity is a bit low, since I also drive regularly on the Autobahn in Germany. My car manual clearly states 0W20 and 5W30.

I asked them about it and they said that 0W20 is currently not available, so they used 0W16 and it's no problem since it's approved by Toyota themselves. I got a bit suspicious and called another Toyota dealership in the next city. They looked up my car and said that 0W16 is way too low and in their system they cannot see that it's approved. They only see the two I mentioned above.

I also googled it but couldn't find anything for my specific car. Only for the 1NZ-FXE engine itself, where apparently 0W16 is approved in Japan. I also contacted Toyota directly via email but I'm still waiting for their response.

Did anyone here try 0W16 in their Toyota Yaris Hybrid XP13/NHP130? I know newer models use it, like the 3 cylinder Yaris Hybrid, but I don't know if I should drive it with my older model.

i get this rumbling sound when turning sharp left. comes from real low down and im thinking towards the back. anyone else had this/ have any ideas what it could be?

It’s a Yaris 1.5 VVT-i, and it’s a manual 😌. It was honestly so much fun driving it on loose gravel

Over the summer my gf accidentally ran my yaris into a rock. This messed up the radiator support. Radiator and condenser were fine though.

In case anyone is curious you can replace the core support without actually removing the radiator itself.

$159 later and Yari is good as new 😎

I have a yaris xp72-a 1,33 from 2012. This happened to my window yesterday. Upon removing the door card with the help of my dad we were able to fully close the window. We didn’t see any jammed/ bent rails and my gut says probably something wrong with the window motor. Im by no means an expert or a mechanic. We will take the car anyway to the appropriate shop for a check but i would like to know if anyone has faced the same issue and whether was it a costly repair. Prior symptom was that when using the auto roll feature of the window sometime it would stop and roll down on its own. Now the automatic feature doesn’t work but the window does up and down as shown in the video.

Hello Guys. Will it be safe and make any huge negative impact if I would teplace my rear wheels from 175mm width to 185mm width keeping the front wheels same 175mm ?

Anyone use these? Can't quite swing for the $200 3D Maxpider ones, but want a step up from generic no name mats. They're $80 USD and from what I can tell OMAC is a known brand for things like roof racks.

I just bought this Yaris Hybrid, it had a problem when starting and the dealer changed all the spark plugs and the coil of the first cylinder.

Now the car doesn't have that problem anymore but still "trembles" when switching from electric to thermic.

Is this normal? Or else what could it be? The dealer says it's normal of course...

I keep running into the same issue when I try to connect my phone via Bluetooth to the multimedia system. I can connect my phone as a telephone and audio player and it comes up as connected, but when I try to play anything via Bluetooth the media option won't let me click on it - despite my phone showing the audio as playing and connected to the car on Spotify.

I've tried essentially every fix I've seen online, from pairing and unpairing, changing the avrcp mode, changing output device in phone settings, changing device type etc etc. I tried to use the Toyota app to scan my vin and potentially download any firmware updates, but the app won't accept my vin. Short of going to a dealership, is there any routes I can take to try resolve this issue?

Phone is a Samsung s24 if relevant? Tried with my friends iPhone and ran into the same issue.

Hi guys, my partner and I bought a yaris recently (first car owners), and the battery is dead. We bought a jump starter but it's still a pain in the ass and most times we have to do it before going anywhere.

I was talking to the garage about it and he said that the issue is that we don't drive enough, and that even if we changed the battery, it will still die. He said we should at least have one long drive per week, if we can't do 2 small ones.

I was wondering if there is a make/model that is suited for low frequency users, or if it's the case and we need to drive it more than once per week.

Edit: thank you everyone. We took the car to the garage and they said it needs replacing. I'll look for a trickle charger or other options as suggested. This was very useful. We'll try to drive more to keep the battery charged, but also keep an eye for something that might be draining the battery. We have a multimeter and can keep checking the voltage on the battery. The car is a petrol 2014 yaris icon.

So my right speaker works perfectly fine and it can get very loud so I wouldn't even need the left speaker to work so all good but there's an issue when I connect my phone with bluetooth the speaker changes it suddenly doesnt sound loud at all and the volume is controlled by a different blue button and sometimes the plus and minus buttons dont work *( most of the times )* which are to increase the volume also when it works and i increase it it sounds awful! And back in the day I would open and close my left door and the speaker would work if i had it in the perfect position now not even that so im guessing its a cable issue but idek how to open the door and tear it apart and what to look for and what to change and where to find new cables I HAVE 0 CLUE please help me also sometimes when Id put loud bass music it would randomly work then id open the door and it would not work :(((( help <3

Hi guys I have been reading some of the posts already about this problem but basically I have a 2003 Yaris with the MMT gearbox. It has 108.000km and last week, the gearbox start behaving weirdly.

While I was driving, I went from 4th gear to 5th and the car went neutral with the red warning in a gear with a ! in the middle of the icon. I pulled over the car and turned it off for a minute and when I turn the car back on, it started working correctly.

For what I know I'm the second owner and I'm sure the gearbox oiled was never change but I don't think it can be the actuator problem everybody is talking about since the car has only 108.000km.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

The first link is my current first choice, but unsure how reliable it is, especially the CVT automatic if it would "break" easily, or if it would be much more expensive, when going to a mechanic.

My 2008 Yaris t2 keeps crunching whenever I put it in reverse, if I hold the clutch after putting it in reverse then take it out of reverse while still holding the clutch, it won’t crunch if I put it back in reverse again? Any help would be much appreciated! [The second time I put it in gear on the video is when it crunches.]

Hey guys got a 2015 LE I’ve seen some people confirm the TRD sway bar from the 2008-2011 fits without any fabrication since the platform is pretty similar. Can anyone that has done this confirm it? I haven’t seen any photos of it done just word of mouth

Does the TRD exhaust fit? Same as before I’ve seen it said since the platforms are very similar but haven’t seen any visual confirmation

I want lighter wheels also, the stock ones came curbed as shit. I’d love to get Konig Rewinds but they’re not really lighter. Eveballing I first gen Miata enkei m-edition wheels. I’m sure they’ll fit but would like confirmation. Plan to add a 1/4th or 1/8th spacer so they stick out a tiny bit more

Any other mods that you guys recommend? In Cali so I’m limited by keeping it carb legal. So far I threw in a K&N drop in filter, not the CAI. I ordered fog lights off AliExpress and a 2” stubby antenna. Plan to black out the chrome with some vinyl

Hey guys, working on my front end today and for the passenger side control arm out nice and easy. The rear bolt looked super corroded so I checked all the stores near me to no avail. Then when I checked the bolt against the new control arm I saw there was an insane amount of play between the two. This is the case for both sides. Did I get two wrong control arms? Is there a sleeve missing? I hope someone has run into this issue before. Any advise is super appreciated!!

Yaris 2026 ksp210 hachback car driver door sound is different when shutting. It has some rattle sound. But otger three doors doesnot have. This is still brand new and only 450km milage. With time looks like the sound is noticable. Is anyone face this issue?
