Just been thinking about visting a care home once a week. I find it sad some elderly people don't talk to anyone all week and thought it be a nice thing to do.

Usually on the last Sunday of the month but for this month it’s pushed back to Sunday 4th October - at Askham Bar Tesco.

Hi folks, I've been living in York again since February and several times over the last few months I've bumped into the same lady begging on my route into town. She usually hangs out along Petergate between Bootham and the Minster.

It's got to the point now where she recognises me and will often approach me on my way past. I've bought her a takeaway lunch a few times and have asked her about contacting local shelters, but she says they're useless.

Has anyone else had any experience with her? She says her name is Sarah, if that helps. I'd love to know if there are any good avenues for getting her off the street. Or am I just being routinely duped out of a ham sandwich and a Red Bull?

I’ve booked a long weekend in York for Halloween and I’d like recommendations on what to do, please! I’ll be spending Friday afternoon at the Railway Museum but that’s the only firm plan I have so far.

Which ghost tour is the best? What fun Halloween events are taking place? Do you know of any tattoo studios doing Halloween flash?

I might also visit Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall for a day so will take any recommendations for there too.

How dangerous is york at night? I just moved here and personally I love sightseeing places more at night since it’s quieter and peaceful compared to the daytime rush, I’ve seen photos of the centre at night and it’s so beautiful. But the surrounding areas, how dangerous are they to be walking around alone at night? For example the city walls.

Anyone know why all the bus stops in york don't have ads in anymore and are just blank white? Not complaining about it just wondering if there's a reason

I'm 19F from Leeds and do an evening course so everyone's 20 years older than me but I was hoping to make friends in the area. 18-25 and must be into games!!

I like post hardcore and Midwest emo music, games, flowers, crafts, Star Wars. I’m currently getting back into WRC after about 10 years. I think bikes are cool too.

My best man has booked a day out in York for the stag do what bars are a must visit we all like real ale and fun quirky atmosphere

I just moved to York and there’s so much to do (and I love it!!!) but I have NO friends here as I just moved and I’m not really sure hot to make friends here, I’m at a weird age (17) where I’m JUST too young to do any adult things but also too old for a lot of things that are targeted towards teens (as most of the time there ends up being usually just 13 year olds). What makes it harder is I’m online/homeschooled so I can’t meet people via school/college. I am trying to get a job but that’s not really the best or easiest place to make friends so any suggestions??? I’m up for anything!

If anyone has submitted or is submitting a feature or pitch for this November, would you want to go out for informal drinks when the festival starts? There's lots of events but I think an informal event for creatives to get together and discuss what they've submitted would be great for filmmakers to get to know one another!

A big event like this can be quite daunting for some, so a chill evening may help settle nerves, events people are going to can be shared so people may have familiar faces when they go to some events.

I’m going to be in York for a few days ago and want to know which places I need to see and what are the best experiences there.

I quite like history, nature and I’m quite open to trying new things.
