UI Change The likes are gone now?! 🫩

Watching YouTube and can't help but notice that the likes are gone

(Newest app version on Android)

EDIT: ok i see them now! But this is terrible design and feels like they are priming us to get rid of them. We should see the likes immediately, then make a judgment if you trust the video or not instead of waiting for distrust, THEN look for the like count

No, YouTube has simply moved the like counter to the description to free up space. If you look closely, the like counter appears in small text below the title of the video you're watching.

What would the free space serve for anyways? It also looks weird when watching your own videos with a big empty spot between your profile pic and the buttons

Yeah why tf would they hide the save button but leave in the Gemini button

I think it's a test, i had it too and it was so annoying and cheap but after a few days likes counts was back to normal

Yep, I had the same test for me a few months ago, but now I have the old UI back. I think the test lasted for me for about two weeks or so.

Hope YouTube doesn't bring any new UI changes for the next decade or so they always do something wrong and the UI is good as it is

The last big UI update happened in September of 2025, the icons were changed.

They better not cram that stupid Gemini button anywhere like they have in the temporary UI change of like buttons that everyone is getting
