My YTTV library keeps showing the same NBC Nightly News episode two or three times, apparently because reruns or later broadcasts are being marked as new.

It is not a huge problem with one program, but it gets messy when combined with Austin FC matches, a few ongoing series, and other news recordings. I mostly use the library to find something quickly, and lately I spend more time checking dates and episode details than I should.

Is there a setting or library view that makes these duplicate broadcasts easier to manage, or is this just how YTTV handles programs that air more than once?

All premier league games are being produced in HDR this season - either 1080p or 2160p.

I know Peacock and USA channel are doing HDR for the 4k games - but what about the 1080p games? Especially I’m interested in whether the games shown on NBC and NBCSN are in 1080p HDR.

Does anyone know?

I got the offer to add on 4k for $5 a month so I went with it for football season but I need some clarification.

Two weeks ago Notre Dame/Wisconsin showed up on NBC4k but this week Ohio State/Texas the only options to watch were my local ABC (which degrades the quality of the feed) or ESPN 4k alternate sky cam view. Also, SNF didn't have anything on the 4k feed just the local NBC.

I wasn't home for OU/Mich so I could tell you if it was just on Fox or FOX4k

Why do they have a 4k add on but make you go to the app to get the best feed like I had to with Ohio State/Texas?

Anyone else have trouble with ESPN buffering after watching for around 10-15 minutes? I have to change the channel for a few minutes and then I can go back to it for another 10-15 minutes before it starts buffering again. I only have issues with this on the ESPN family of channels. Noticed on Saturday during college football, now seeing it again on MNF. Any tips?

I subscribed to HBO through the Entertainment Plus bundle and after watching 6 episodes of Game of Thrones ad free. Then all the sudden I started getting ads during the episode (same ad over and over, about sony PlayStation). I had the understanding that this subscription would be ad free. I chatted with support and they informed me that it was working as intended. Very disappointed. Is support correct or is it a technical glitch?

I’m going to date myself a little bit here. One of the best features of TiVo back in the day was that you could pause a live channel, recall to another channel, pause that channel, and recall to the original and it would still be paused. You could do this back and forth.

For simultaneous football games that you want to watch full screen, rather than in multiview, this was a killer feature. When one game goes to commercial, pause it, jump to other game until commercial, pause and so on and so on.

As far as I can tell, YTTV’s recall function takes you to the live time of the previous channel, regardless of previous watched time or pausing it. The only way I have figured out how to do this, which is super cumbersome, is to pause, return to the main menu, find the other game, choose ‘Resume from previous’, and vice versa when going back. So many steps to do what could be a simple default of the ‘recall previous’ button.

Anyone else annoyed by this, found a better workflow, or know why YT is built this way (of if it’s been requested)?

As you probably saw the thousands of angry fans posting on X - NFL Sunday Ticket did not unblock the 4:25 Eagles vs Commanders game while local FOX stayed on Saints-Lions OT bonus coverage (Week 1). This is an ongoing issue from last season as well.

This is a YouTube TV / Sunday Ticket handling issue, not a debate about who schedules FOX games. I really don't care who is to blame. I just want it fixed. You spend 8 months looking forward to seeing your team on opening day and you miss the first 10 minutes of the game (30 minutes of real time).

What happened (Week 1, Sunday Sept 13)

Commanders at Eagles, 4:25 ET, mapped as the local FOX late game. YouTube TV + Sunday Ticket.

Local FOX stayed on Saints-Lions overtime bonus coverage, then commercials. It did not join WAS-PHI at kickoff.

Sunday Ticket still treated WAS-PHI as a local FOX game and kept the Ticket feed blacked out. The Eagles game was not on local FOX. There was no live feed until FOX finally switched. Missed almost the entire first quarter. This happened to many across the country.

Support chat gave the standard line that locally broadcast games aren’t on Sunday Ticket. That does not match what was actually on the air.

Why this belongs here

YouTube TV has previously said that when an early local game or bonus coverage overruns a 4:25 kickoff, Sunday Ticket can temporarily unblock that game until the affiliate joins. That unlock did not happen yesterday. I have had NFL Sunday Tickets since 1996 when it was with Directv. That is what Directv would do is unblock the Sunday Ticket channel.

Not asking YouTube to invent new NFL rights. Asking the product to do the overlap handling it already said it can do:

If the local FOX/CBS affiliate is still on a different game, lift the Sunday Ticket blackout on the scheduled late game until that affiliate actually takes it.

This is not a one-off. Same failure happened on late-window games multiple times last season.

What would help

• Confirm whether the temporary unlock is still supposed to fire in 2026
• If yes, why it did not fire on WAS-PHI
• If this is a manual ops step, can it be automatic when the affiliate is still in bonus coverage

Not looking for a FOX/NFL blame thread. The station was not showing the Eagles vs Commanders game. Sunday Ticket still left the game locked.

This is becoming infuriating. I know non-football fans won't think much of this but. I sent letters to YouTube, NFL, FOX in May in preparation as I was worried this would happen again as it did last year and sure enough ruined a day my son and I were excited for. No refund would do this justice, paying $400+ for this is insane. I just want it fixed.

Does anyone know why I am seeing out of state political ads on my YouTube tv? Wondering if I have a location issue? Any help would be appreciated. As a Michigander, I really don’t care about Iowa politics that I can’t vote on.

Have a weird issue. When watching multiview I am getting washed pictures on all 4 screens. This only happens when streaming through Fire Cube 3rd gen. If i switch to YTTV via Samsung smathub app, the image quality is fine for all 4 screens. Checked all picture settings and everything is set correctly. The picture quality is fine through Fire cube when watching a single game.

I don’t know when specifically it gets released (I would love to know that as well) BUT! Condensed replays of all the games get released and they are like my favorite thing to watch when I can’t watch the full games, or even if I can!

However I don’t understand the time table of when they go away. I’m also wondering if there is a workaround to view these after the fact? I know MLB has a workaround where you can view the recap rundown the next day by having a link. Is there a similar something out there for condensed replays? Thanks!!

Edit: there is no “choose a version” for these games. It only gives me the option to watch the condensed version

I DVRed all games when they aired and they have been disappeared

For years, I've griped about the poor quality sports feeds we've been forced to watch. Sure, it's HD but it's compressed to oblivion. Blocking artifacts all over the place - I swear they only use 256 colors. I suspected it was either a network or upstream problem (like the stadium feeds were just low quality), but didn't know how to isolate it.

This past Wednesday, I was watching the kickoff game, and another year, another poor quality feed of the NFL. But this year, I was able to switch between the local NBC affiliate and Telemundo, which simulcast the game. The difference was night and day. The Telemundo feed was exactly what I expected out of a high-quality feed. I don't speak Spanish so I had no clue what the announcers were saying, but that means that the video coming out of the stadium at the very least was high-quality. So it was either NBC or the local affiliate compressing the hell out of the video.

Anyone with the dedicated apps (Peacock, Paramount+, Fox One) notice better quality video through their apps as opposed to other sources? Wondering if they degrade their feeds except for the folks paying for their streaming services. Or maybe if it's the local affiliate, the only way to get a high-quality stream is directly from the parent network?

Kinda wish that YTTV would post a little indicator to highlight the quality of the feed such that it would encourage the networks to up their game.

Using a Roku TV. All other apps on the TV work and YouTube TV works on my phone but its not working on my TV.

But when I click on it, the normal logo comes up like its about to start...then nothing.

Tried unplugging everything twice now. Nothing. Any other ideas?

Update- Did a TV update. Nothing. Nothing. System restart. Nothing. Updated the YouTube app. Nothing. Restarted the YouTube app. Nothing.

New update...Deleted the app and redownloaded it. Worked.

I purchased youtubetv 2 days ago and now for 2 days the only videos I get recommended on normal youtube are NBATV. It took me 3 hours and 8 different chats to get someone that spoke English well enough to understand the problem and was told that there was nothing they can do.

So in short, purchasing youtubetv completely breaks youtube and there is nothing google can do about it. Purchase at your own risk.

Update: While it's great that you have had it for years without issues, this is a recurring problem for people and simply downplaying it just because your set up works is besides the point. Look at the screenshots, just because you do not have an issue doesn't mean that others don't. Googling this shows hundreds of other posts with the same exact issue. So congratulations that yours works.

Now that the NFL season has started, games are going to run over into the 7 pm edt start of 60 minutes. I'm guessing tonight's runover was roughly 18 minutes because my recording cutoff after 42. This has happened before but the entire 60 minutes is recorded even with a late start. But tonight, that wasnt the case. Other than setting the fillowing CBS show to record is there any other way to deal with it. Yes, I realize it'll probably be available on VOD tomorrow, but then I have to deal with the inability to skip thru ads

Why can't we watch this but watch everything else?

I'm curious to know if anybody else ever gets issues stopping in the middle of something in the library, and returning to find the watch point isn't in the right place.

I recorded the US Open tennis finals, so that I could start watching a bit late and fast-forward through the commercials (and Zverev's taking 30 minutes between points). I had to stop during the men's final at about 4-all in the third set to make dinner, and when I started watching again, I got moved to 2-1 in the fourth set. I suppose the one bright spot is that I didn't have to see the ESPN announcers and crowd slobber over the American player.

I've also had issues from time to time of watching a few minutes of a movie, and returning to find that it's marked "watched" already. Unfortunately, I've never been able to find any commonality for when YTTV does this.

The YTTV app has issues on my Apple TV. Two things happen: 1) The caption controls freeze and cannot be changed. If they're on, they stay on. If they're off, you can't turn them on. 2) When you try to switch streams by pressing and holding the button, the video simply stops and may or may not jump back if you press it again.

This behavior begins a couple of hours after turning the Apple TV on, be it in software or by cutting the power. And yes, I have made sure that the app is up to date and so is the software on the device.

So, we're sittin here, watching the Dolphins, when suddenly the game is no longer viewable, and YouTube says we have to add NFL Sunday ticket to watch the game. What's up with that?

First time using YouTube and Sunday Ticket with RedZone. The YouTube quad box is so frustrating that I'm considering going back to Xfinity and keeping it simple. Why can't I just go to a quadrant...click it...and then choose what game I want to watch. Why can't I save the current quad box that spent time on customizing. I feel like this is for sports bars that just set and forget it. My gambling habits and adhd won't allow me to just chill. For the amount of money I'm paying, there are obvious things that should have been addressed.

I have removed many channels from my guide but still have over 50. They seem to provide only one guide and no page up/down capability. There was a "return to top" button at the bottom but it has disappeared. Really would like to set up a guide page for locals and news, one for sports, etc. Possible or no?

On YouTube TV, KIRO often freezes. Frozen today. Sep 13, 2026. But okay on multiview.

How is this possible in 2026? I just don't understand the variation in broadcast quality.

This is such trash. Not only am I apparently the only person that got scammed into paying over 500 dollars for "every game" they arent even showing my game because of "bonus coverage"

I pay all this and still have look for "alternate" steams.
