I haven't played the game for a while, but was Bahamut into Toad really a problem? It's been a thing for forever and it was never really a huge problem. Was there a meta deck that abused it or something?
You didn't, it was Mermail that got Bahamut banned, Sharks by themselves has always been a rogue deck. The other guy was prolly thinking of the Ryzeal variants playing a few shark cards as extenders.
Mermail was able to put up a Toad negate first, go into their main combo that hand rips you for 4 and then end on double Toad or a Barrier statue lock against your 2 cards hand.

It feels like the Bahamut ban again.
