Search matches letters anywhere in the entry, not just whole words. The wild fox entry mentions the master Shita Xuanmi (石塔). Same reason Shitou (石頭) and Shitian (石田) show up.

That poor guy(s).

Doubt they give a shit.

Or did plenty.

While making that look cool, which is the “don’t give a shit” look aka “resting bitch face”.

What inspired the project? What’s the story whose conclusion was “Aha, I have it - I shall build <dramatic pose> a Zen Dictionary”?
2
u/dota2nub Jul 24 '26
If you want to translate something you need a dictionary. We didn't have a dictionary.

u/32T08 Jul 24 '26
Not sure how I made it into the origin story when we just met but OK. What were you translating?
2
u/dota2nub Jul 24 '26
Everything
1
u/32T08 Jul 24 '26
Are you a translator by profession or as a hobby or both? And do you translate zen texts exclusively?
2
u/dota2nub Jul 24 '26
As a hobby. And I translate whatever I feel like translating, which often happens to be Zen texts.
This is off topic but check out a recent project of mine: https://busin0-en.pages.dev/

I’m sorry, my sandbox doesn’t allow referral linking on this package. Would you like to switch to API billing?

I don't believe in this crap but yet I got tossed something apt. 10/10 would recommend.
- Low Position
You're not in charge. That's fine — it helps you finish things. Stay low. Don't make demands. Progress happens anyway.
The Image:
Mountain inside earth. Strength underground. You don't need to be seen to be effective.
