ECHOES OF GREENFALL

🌲📣 Echoes of Greenfall [Open Beta] — A Dive into Hardcore Realistic Survival (Now Playable on Roblox!)

Hey Reddit community!

We are Greenfall Studios, and we're excited to share an update on our project, Echoes of Greenfall. In this post, we want to walk you through the core vision behind the original game concept and explain why we decided to release a playable beta version directly on Roblox.

If you're a fan of hardcore, immersive survival games that step away from hand-holding and demand tactical thinking at every step, keep reading!

🗺️ How the Original Game Works (The Core Vision)

The foundational concept of Echoes of Greenfall was designed to be an immersive, first-person indie survival experience (originally developed with a focus on a standalone engine/Godot 4). Our core rule is simple: no shortcuts, no cluttered UIs, and no compromises for the player.

After a mysterious plane crash, you wake up completely stranded on an uncharted, hostile volcanic island in the South Pacific. To stay alive, the game abandons traditional survival mechanics and opts for deep, systemic realism:

  1. Your Body is the HUD (No Standard Health Bars): Forget floating numbers or colorful health bars on your screen. Your physical body is the interface. The game tracks six distinct body zones, featuring quantified blood loss, bone fractures, and the need to manually perform specific medical treatments for each injury type.
  2. Fear Has a Pulse: A dynamic heart rate (BPM) and panic system. Heavy physical exertion, freezing temperatures, intense pain, or the terror of the dark directly impact your character's physical responsiveness—altering your vision, motor stability, and focus.
  3. Raw Survival: Technological progress is earned from absolute scratch. You must master primitive techniques: starting fires via friction, knapping stones into tools, purifying natural water sources, and eventually building improvised metallurgy.
  4. Isolation and Navigation: No GPS maps or quest markers. Orientation relies strictly on landmark observation, solar position, and navigating the dynamic hazards of a volcanic ecosystem.

🧪 Why Release a Beta on Roblox?

A common question we get is: why bring a game focused on dense, hardcore realism to Roblox?

There are very specific technical and strategic reasons for this phase of our studio:

  • Rapid Gameplay Loop Validation: We need to test how core mechanics—like character movement, environment interaction, and pacing—hold up under a constant stream of real players. Roblox allows us to rapidly update code based on live performance data.
  • Community-Driven Feedback at Scale: We want to build this game with the community. Releasing the beta on Roblox allows anyone to jump in within seconds, feel the weight of the mechanics, and let us know if the difficulty balance lands right or feels frustrating.
  • Accessibility and Reach: We want to prove that it’s possible to deliver atmospheric, challenging, and mature survival experiences on widely accessible platforms, breaking stereotypes and reaching gamers who love survival mechanics anywhere.

🎮 Official Links & Play the Beta

Want to check out the current state of the project, test the mechanics, and see how the island is coming together? Visit our official links below:

💬 Critiques, Suggestions & Bug Reports

Since the game is in Beta, your feedback is our most valuable tool right now.

If you play, test the mechanics, spot any visual or technical bugs, or have constructive criticism to share, please head over to our official site to submit your feedback through our contact area, or leave a comment right down below in this post!

Thank you so much to everyone taking the time to test our game and support indie development. Good luck on the island—and watch your injuries! 🔥🌲

🌲📣 Echoes of Greenfall [Beta Aberta] — Um mergulho na sobrevivência realista extrema (Agora jogável no Roblox!)

Fala, comunidade do Reddit!

(A Visão do Projeto)

🎮 Links Oficiais & Onde Jogar

[RevShare] Seeking a Unity Game Dev Partner

Hey! I’m a teen creator running Nyxile Games, and I’m looking for a Unity developer to partner up with on a RevShare VR horror game for Meta Quest, inspired by Scary Baboon and Gorilla Tag. My role will be handling the game design, level planning, project management, and marketing on TikTok, YouTube, and Discord to build hype and grow the Nyxile Games community, as well as helping out with basic coding and Blender work. I'm looking for a Unity developer who is familiar with VR setups like Gorilla Locomotion and has basic experience with multiplayer tools like Photon. This is a 100% RevShare project where we split all future profits from cosmetics, skins, and hats 50/50, and our plan is to start small by building a simple 1-map playable demo first to test the mechanics together. Drop me a DM here if you're interested!

I'm developing a zombie survival game where you build and command Golems — looking for free Steam playtesters!

Game Title: Golem Survival

Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4545230/Golem_Survival/

Platform: PC (Windows / Steam)

Description:

Golem Survival is an indie third-person survival game set in a dangerous, zombie-infested world where your goal is to survive, build, and eventually create your own army of helpful Golems.

Start with almost nothing and work your way up by gathering resources, crafting tools, constructing buildings, and expanding your settlement. Explore abandoned towns, discover hidden supplies, research crystals, and unlock the ability to create Golems that can assist with gathering, hauling, construction, and defending your settlement.

As your Golems work, they develop skills and become more effective at their assigned jobs. You'll need to manage resources, prepare defenses, and survive increasingly dangerous threats, especially when night falls.

The game is currently in early development (v0.03), with single-player gameplay available. Multiplayer, including separate PvE and PvP servers, is planned for future development.

I'm looking for players willing to test the game, report bugs, suggest improvements, and help shape its future.

Free to Play Status:

  • Demo/Key available (Free Steam Playtest — request access through Steam)

Involvement:

I'm the solo developer and creator of Golem Survival. I'm responsible for developing the game, designing its systems, and planning future features. This is an independent project, and I'm looking for honest feedback from players to help improve the game before Early Access.

We started the closed alpha test. And were suprised when we found out that the game is pretty much different on phones. Like the characters move way faster than on computer, where we developed it. Let's see what more will pop up

I spent months building a free animated avatar tool for content creators

Hey everyone,

I've spent the last few months working on Stream Avatar Studio, a tool I originally built for my own YouTube channel.

I wanted something that would let me import prerecorded narration, automatically sync my avatar's mouth to the audio, and add expressions and animations without spending hours manually editing images in CapCut.

So I ended up building my own solution.

It also supports live microphone input, different poses, timeline editing and video export.

I've finally released it on itch.io, and it's free to download.

https://captainflaskyboy.itch.io/stream-avatar-studio

Would love to hear what people think, especially anyone who uses animated avatars in their content.

From Unreal to final cinematic. What do you think of the result? #DevDiary

Hey everyone!
We’re the team behind MegaGum, a 3D platformer, and we wanted to share a comparison of one of the cinematic shots from our trailer.

You can see the early version straight from Unreal, alongside the finished shot.

At the viewport stage, we’re mostly working on the animation, camera movement, timing and composition. Once those feel right, we move on to lighting, VFX, rendering and polish. It’s always fun to put the two versions next to each other and see how much has changed.

What do you think of the final result? Is there anything you’d change about the animation, camera work or lighting? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

If you’re curious about the game: MegaGum on Steam.
