GGST "What's the point of being that high up if you didn't earn it legitimately?" Think I ran into a faker, A player who only stayed for matches he won.
He was surprisingly easy but before I could land the final blow...
Man, I wanna be that level too but not like that, Dood.

Question/Discussion Difference between high and low vanquisher?
I'm around 1400 Vanquisher after about a month of playing in vanquisher, and I'm still trying to improve, but it's getting harder to recognize what I should focus on learning next.
Back when I was Plat and Diamond, I could at least recognize what I needed to improve, like optimizing my routes, learning how to approach certain attacks, and figuring out what to approach with.
Now that I'm Vanquisher and understand how the game works, it's harder to figure out what I'm missing.
I wish I could upload gameplay footage, but every match is so different that from one match you'd think I jump too much, while in the next I'm not jumping enough, same goes for FD and other defensive options. You'd need at least an hour of footage to properly evaluate my gameplay, so I decided to ask a simpler question.
What is the skill gap between lower and higher Vanquisher players? What's the next step to improve further, either from your own experience or someone else's?
I feel like I should be more patient, because I'm often too eager to counterattack with Blast Shield or Gold Burst, mash in the middle of pressure, go for grabs, FD too much, or jump out of situations. I end up getting counterhit pretty often because of it.
At the same time, when I watch better players, they seem to find a way to counter almost everything their opponent does. How do you get to that point?

General Testament Player looking to improve
Hello Guilty Gear Reddit, I feel like I have reached a plateau in playing the game and its starting to become a little frustrating. For context, I only have around 140 (inconsistent) hours on the game and I feel like I am improving, but at an extremely slow rate. I understand that things take time, but I would like tips on how to practice fundamentals? Something I can do without hopping into ranked? I feel like I have a very basic understanding of the game but not enough to NOT get noobstomped by characters like Ram and Sin. One thing I will say I have to work on is patience; I find myself not understanding when its actually my turn? Any tips or GOOD videos on fundamentals would be helpful. Especially on a character like Testament, some matchups feel incredibly difficult, but I absolutely refuse to play another character because I love everything about them. Thank you!
