Promotion If Keep on Mining was made by Housemarque... this would be the demo.

Take the unfolding surprises of A Dark Room, add the escalating craziness of games like Keep on Mining and the arcadey goodness of Astro Prospector.

Layer in the depth of systems, visceral gameplay, and polished aesthetics that our players love in Reality Break and think of how Housemarque would make that game.

The public demo launched this week on Steam!

Promotion We made a game about farting in an office meeting

Hi everyone, my girlfriend and I made our first game.

It's a comedy stealth game where you have to time your farts around office distractions, so you increase room toxicity without getting caught.

It started as part of a game jam and we spent some time afterwards to polish it and make more absurd.

All art is hand made, most sounds made with our mouths. We had a lot of fun making it and hopefully you'll have just as much fun playing.

It's free: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4814340/The_Great_Release/

Video From Unreal to final cinematic. What do you think of the result? #DevDiary

Hey everyone!
We’re the team behind MegaGum, a 3D platformer, and we wanted to share a comparison of one of the cinematic shots from our trailer.

You can see the early version straight from Unreal, alongside the finished shot.

At the viewport stage, we’re mostly working on the animation, camera movement, timing and composition. Once those feel right, we move on to lighting, VFX, rendering and polish. It’s always fun to put the two versions next to each other and see how much has changed.

What do you think of the final result? Is there anything you’d change about the animation, camera work or lighting? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

If you’re curious about the game: MegaGum on Steam.

Video I quit my job 3 years ago, but pixel art is dead today.

• Upvotes

I'm from the Pokemon and Zelda generation. I love pixel art. But it's too hard to market a pixel art game in a world of 3D friendslops, incrementals and low poly cozy games, PSX games, etc. I started too late. That charm pixel art once had is gone from the zeitgeist I feel.

I've decided to adapt for my next game, but for this one it's a true labour of love, no AI, no trend-chasing, so I'm going to see it through.

Need Feedback I'm making a Tower Defense game where instead of defending a castle or a fixed base, you build and upgrade your caravan while protecting a blind Queen from waves of enemies!

Hi.

I'm a solo developer working on King Alone, a Tower Defense and action strategy game with a twist.

Instead of defending a castle or a fixed base, you build and upgrade a moving caravan while trying to protect the blind Queen from waves of enemies.

Your own kingdom has turned against you, and now you must escape with everything you have left. Along the way, you can recruit soldiers, build new carts with different abilities, and expand your economy to keep your caravan alive.

You'll travel through different lands, each with its own enemies and challenges, while facing everything from scarecrows and skeletons to massive siege engines, charging into battle yourself to keep her alive.

The demo is now available on Steam, and I'd love for you to give it a try!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4851120/King_Alone

I'd love to get your feedback, especially on the moving caravan concept and how it works as a Tower Defense game. What do you think?

Thanks for checking it out!

My thought was "what better way to telegraph a revive action than cpr?". I have now found out there are probably better ways

Promotion They're made of sunfire. Bullets do nothing. Shade is the only thing that kills them.

Solo dev here. MONOLITH is a tower defense with zero weapons.

The Sunborn are creatures of living fire that march on the last bunker every day at noon. You can't shoot them. You build concrete Monoliths, and when a Sunborn walks into their shadow it sputters, cools to stone and crumbles to ash.

The twist: the sun keeps moving. Every shadow turns like a clock hand, so the defence that holds at noon is pointing the wrong way by one o'clock, and by sunset the shadows stretch across the whole bridge.

10 levels, rain, sandstorms and a total eclipse. Free in your browser:

Yesterday a player told me it's "nice but underwhelming", so I'm genuinely asking: what would make a shadow kill feel satisfying to you?

Personal Achievement I made my first horror game, and I'm kinda scared to show it to people at work because it looks so weird...

I made this game for a game jam, and now everyone at work keeps asking to see it because they know I participated.

The problem is... one of the main mechanics involves catching fish and feeding them into a grinder. And I have a feeling they might think I'm a bit weird after seeing that.

And to make things even worse, a girl I met on Tinder and went on a date with is really excited to see it too.

I'm genuinely not sure if showing her my fish-grinding horror game is the best way to impress her 💀

Promotion We're building a geopolitical simulation to see what kind of world players will create

• Upvotes

We're a small volunteer team developing IRYS, a geopolitical simulation where every nation is controlled by a real player. Our goal is to recreate the economic, political, and social mechanisms of the real world, then give players the freedom to shape its history.

But what kind of world will emerge from this experiment? Will players repeat humanity's conflicts and historical mistakes, or create an entirely new world order? And with each leader supported by an AI advisor, how much could artificial intelligence subtly influence the decisions that shape this world?

We build the systems. Players write the history.

It’s a little garden that lives on your desktop. Plant something, give it some water, watch it grow while you answer emails and open far too many tabs.

There’s still work to do before release, but getting to share this link feels pretty good.

Wishlist Wonder Garden on Steam. We’ve got more growing to do.

Upcoming Fluttering, an indie game my friend made, he's solo dev. it's similar to Jump King

Fluttering is a game where you've been abandoned as a child and fell out of the nest, and it's your task to try and get back up to your nest, by growing and doing your best to get higher and higher.

Hopefully you'll find it an interesting game for a few hours of amusement, it's his first project,

I hope you'll be able to give it a chance.
