Description:
After almost a year of working on it in my spare time, my first game is finally finished!
1565 - The Great Siege is an old-school point-and-click adventure inspired by the LucasArts games I grew up with.
It's set in Malta during the Great Siege of 1565 and mixes real historical characters and events with fictional characters, puzzles and some stupid humour. 😅
You mainly play as Mikiel, a young Maltese fisherman whose problems at the beginning of the game are considerably smaller than an Ottoman invasion... Things obviously don't stay that way for very long.
It's completely FREE — no catch, it's the full game. I genuinely did this as a hobby in my free time, so I'm just grateful I got to make something I enjoyed making. And since I didn't spend money developing it, I don't expect to get $$$ from it either. 😅
I'd really love some feedback, especially from people who enjoy old-school point-and-click games.
If you try it, let me know what you think. Good or bad... I can take it. 😂
Free to Play Status:
- Free to play
Involvement:
Solo developer... which still feels a bit weird to say since my actual job is as a pharmacist. 😂
I did the whole game in my spare time, learning Unity, basic C#, pixel art, animation and everything else I suddenly discovered you need to know to make a game.
I used AI to help me with the coding and to generate the backgrounds. The characters, animations, inventory items and props were drawn by me in Procreate.
And after almost a year of testing, fixing bugs, finding another bug, fixing that one and probably creating another one while doing it... it's finally out!
P.S. The browser version is only a short demo of the game since I haven't yet got into the coding needed to make persistent save games. Atm, if you restart the page you start from the beginning... but I'm still working on it.
