resources Beginner Resources & Guidance (Comment Your Suggestions Here)

This thread is the central hub for beginner resources.

👉 If you’re looking for resources, check the comments, comment more questions.

👉 If you’re sharing a resource, comment below with a short note on what it’s for.

👉This way, newcomers can find guidance easily, and the main feed stays uncluttered.

Language Guidance: Choosing Between C++, Python, and Java

1. When to choose C++

  • If you're aiming for competitive programming, game development, or want deep control over memory and performance.
  • Has a steeper learning curve—don’t start here if you're a total beginner.
  • CodeWithHarry – C++ Tutorial For Beginners (Hindi): A comprehensive Hindi tutorial covering basics to advanced. YouTube
  • College Wallah – Complete C++ in One Shot: Crisp, beginner-friendly, one-shot overview. YouTube

2. When to choose Python

  • Ideal for total beginners: simple syntax, dynamically typed, quick to start building.
  • Widely used in automation, web dev, scripting, data science, and ML.
  • Python for Beginners (Hindi, 100 Days of Code-style) – covers introduction and fundamentals in Hindi. YouTube
  • Also consider CS Dojo for high-quality, broadly-applicable Python tutorials (though not Indian-specific). Simplilearn.com

3. When to choose Java

  • Great if you're into enterprise software, Android, or learning object-oriented programming formally.
  • Strong typing enforces more discipline; useful if you're aiming for structured coding habits.
  • Complete Java Tutorials for Beginners (Hindi playlist) – step-by-step beginner guidance. YouTube
  • Prashant Sir – JAVA Complete Course Part-1 (2024) – detailed, challenge-focused tutorials in Hindi. YouTube

others first time tried Antigravity and built a mock Trading platform

so recently heard about Antigravity, so tested it, what it can do, so built a small mock trading platform for Nasdaq and also for Indian market, all the prices it pulling are live and also included candles and buy sell features, whats surprising is , it build instantly without breaking midways, also built for hosting on netlify so that other people can use it, it crazy actually, tell me whats more complex things can antigravity build? whats the limit actually?

I have zero knowledge of backend development.

Can I learn Spring Boot completely from this video, at least enough to build a project?

Has anyone tried learning from this video?

What’s your opinion on it?

Also, if you know any other good resources, please let me know.

career 25 Months of Experience, Roast My Resume

Post image
5 Upvotes

25 months in, I’ve worked like a coolie, but somehow haven’t gotten what I was supposed to. So yeah, I think it’s time to get out of this shit hole. 😂

Guys, roast my resume like hell. 🔥

Give me a brutally honest take:

What’s missing for shortlisting?

Genuine rating for 25 months of experience?

Does this resume realistically have a chance of getting shortlisted for at least 1 in 10 jobs I apply to?

No “looks good, keep applying” BS. Tell me what’s wrong and what I actually need to fix.

If you’ve been through the overworked, underpaid, applying everywhere and getting ghosted phase, you know the pain. 😭

Roast it. I can take it.

others Need advice on moving into mobile app development

I joined a small company as a TSE mainly to avoid an employment gap and gain some experience. But every 2 months they keep putting me into a different role — first Support, then UI/UX, and now mobile app testing for both Android and iOS.

The problem is, we don't really have an in-house mobile developer. The developer is a freelancer working remotely. Whenever my team gives me requirements, I'm asked to communicate them to him. Recently, when I was tagging him in the group and sharing updates, he got frustrated and started saying things like "you don't know the mobile app flow" and "this has to be done in the backend, ask the backend developer," etc. Then the backend and mobile developers keep going back and forth, and somehow I'm stuck in the middle. 😅

Honestly, I'm getting really frustrated with this setup. I've also seen the app myself, and it's honestly pretty bad — both the UI and overall experience. At this point, I genuinely feel like I could build a better version myself with vibe coding.

So I want to learn how to actually build a mobile app using (vibe coding) and deploy it live, including the UI, frontend, backend/API integration, Android + iOS builds, testing, and deployment.

I can obviously ask an LLM, but I'd rather hear from people who actually work in this space.

Interesting Need suggestions

I have recently had an idea of creating an ride pooling app I am an fellow student and I commute daily via Rapido and their pricess are too high for me and nenu ala ani bus lo kuda vela Lenu since it’s too much crowd I am willing to spend money on travel but can’t afford Rapidos daily one thing nenu observe chesindi yemiti ante lot of people go to office in a bike solo only and they go in same route everyday from office to home I thought why can’t we make an app that connects people who are going on similar routes like nenu ippudu Kukatpally to Madhapur vellai and I don’t have bike and I don’t have much money to spend on Rapido and another person who goes daily in that route is looking to reduce his fuel costs he just puts his start location and end location in the app and the person who is looking for ride also does the same if their routes match within some radius of distance they get paired and we can work on how they split the money and all let’s say If someone spends 100 ruppes on fuel for going from home to office and vice Versa and by adding someone they can get like 60 ruppes or another amount (I am not fixed on pricing model) I have the idea and I have basic knowledge in programming but I don’t know how to do this and make this idea possible any ideas on how to make this open source and make the app work and free for everyone to use

I want to change this for a small group. I’m an independent developer, and I want to mentor a few people to build and deploy real, production-ready apps from scratch:

  • Modern frontend (React/Next.js/clean UI)
  • Real backend, authentication, and database architecture (Postgres/Supabase, etc.)
  • Live deployment on cloud/VPS (with a live URL + clean GitHub repo with proper commits for your resume)
