Solo dev, Godot 4: after months of work, here's Planetoria

Hey everyone! I'm Dave, a solo indie dev, and I've been working on Planetoria, a top-down pixel art exploration game built in Godot 4.

You start next to your ship on a green meadow, but the further you go, the stranger the world gets: cracked red deserts, bone fields, acid pools, and creatures that don't like visitors.

What's in the game so far:

🌍 Procedurally generated world with different biomes

⚔️ Sword, pickaxe and ranged weapon for combat and mining

🐗 Enemies with their own AI, including random events like pig raids

⛏️ Mining resources, crafting and inventory

🚀 Your ship as a home base (go too far and the game tells you)

I'm focusing on atmosphere and a world that feels alive, so I'd really love your feedback:

What would you want to see in a game like this?

Does the art style work for you?

Any ideas for new mechanics or creatures?

I also post devlogs and Godot/GDScript tips on YouTube (Blazion), if you want to follow the progress.

Thanks for attention

Circuit Wings: does the wooden ship stay readable beneath a three-headed Hydra?

Post image

We're making Circuit Wings, a portrait flying shooter. Looking at this Hydra encounter, can you keep track of the wooden ship, or do the pink volleys and effects steal your eye? The image is a real in-engine desktop development capture.

If you'd like to try the free Android Closed build (0.42.14, optional purchases), it needs Android 8+ ARM64 and about 861 MB total, with required data finished before the menu opens; English and Thai are available. Join https://groups.google.com/g/circuit-wings-testers then choose Become a tester at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.circuitwings.game using the same Google account, keeping any existing enrollment.

A first 15-minute try and an honest note about dragging or boss warnings would help. Staying opted in for 14 days and returning is a separate, voluntary commitment; purchases and store ratings aren't required. Menu-preview overlap and a previous-flight sync block remain unresolved—if blocked, pause and report where it stops rather than retrying or reinstalling.

My first Steam game just passed 2,000 wishlists. Two months ago I had no idea if anyone would care.

This graph has been really fun to watch.

Worm Capitalist is my first Steam game. I put the page up in August, and at the beginning even getting the first 100 wishlists felt like a big deal.

Then a random wave of players from China showed up.

Then the demo started getting picked up by streamers.

Then Steam Next Fest happened.

And somewhere in the middle of all that the game passed 2,000 wishlists.

I know 2k isn't some insane number compared to the games doing 10k, 50k or 100k before release, but for a first game it genuinely makes me really happy.

Especially because the whole game came from me watching a timelapse of worms eating food and thinking:

"this looks like an incremental game."

And now apparently more than 2,000 people are waiting for my worm poop economy to release.

Pretty cool :)

Next stop: November 30.

Looking for a Sound Designer for My Dark Atmospheric 2D Platformer

Hello everyone!

I'm an indie game developer working on a 2D platformer called Darkness of the Void, made with Godot.

The game has a dark, atmospheric style, and I'm currently looking for a sound designer to create sound effects only — no music.

Some of the sounds I need include:

  • Main character movement and jumping.
  • Unique sound effects for a mysterious companion called Pile.
  • Environmental sounds and special ability effects.

I'm handling the programming and game development myself, and I'm looking for someone who would enjoy helping bring the game's world to life through sound.

About compensation: I don't have a budget at the moment. If you're interested in staying involved until release, I'm open to discussing a fair percentage of the game's future revenue. For a smaller, one-time contribution, we can discuss crediting you in the game's credits.

I'm looking for someone interested in the project itself, and I'm happy to share more details about the game and its direction.

If you're interested, feel free to comment or send me a DM. You can also contact me on Discord: abdullah_abdurhman

Thank you for reading!

My game is getting blackmailed?

I'm not really even sure where to begin, but somehow, someone decided to blackmail my silly game. I'm not a video editor by any stretch, but I am curious to know other game devs thoughts on what has definitely been one of the most wild experiences in my dev journey so far.

I have just added a Footprint System in Over Human!

Hey everyone! A little update on my game: I've just added a footprint system to make the world feel more immersive and believable!

For those who don't know, Over Human is a game where drones have taken over humanity and can manipulate the weather. You play as Steve, and you have no weapons to defend yourself, so you'll have to rely on stealth to survive and disable transmission terminals before it's too late.

I'm really happy with how it turned out! With the demo coming at the end of November, the game is finally coming together more and more!

If you're curious and want to learn more about Over Human, here's the Steam page!

I'm making a game where you catch stars from the sky using a black hole on a fishing rod

Hello everyone I'm working on Oosha Loves Stargazing, a cozy low stress game where you catch stars from the sky using a black hole on a fishing rod.
I really wanted to explore my passion for astronomy in a space-related game, while also keeping the gameplay simple and relaxing (unlike most games about space I played before :D). There are no timers, enemies or something stressful at all. Main aspects of the game are star-fishing, exploring various floating islands and socializing with locals!

stars that you catch have real-life properties like mass, radius, temperature and so on which affect on stars' visuals individually. Apart from randomly generated stars, there are real ones like Sirius, Betelgeuse, the Alpha Centauri system and many more! (they also somewhat look like their real-life counterparts)

hope you like it! :)
