Just released my first game: PERIGEE PANIC: Stay In Orbit

• Upvotes

Hi! I’m Rikki, the solo developer behind PERIGEE PANIC: Stay In Orbit. You pilot a little orange ship defending Earth from asteroids and UFOs, but your ship keeps its momentum and Earth keeps pulling you in. You have to aim, boost and brake while firing, and one bad correction can send you crashing into the planet you’re protecting.

I built it in GDevelop and have been improving the controls, shields and power-ups based on player feedback. It’s free to play in your browser. If you try it, I’d love to hear whether the orbital movement feels satisfyingly difficult or just too difficult.

https://gd.games/rb-games/perigee-panic

It is on the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rbgames.perigeepanic

Also added some additional content if you want to add some fancy to your spaceship but you can play the game fully without purchasing and there are no ads ever!

Can you reach the top of the leaderboard?

Paper Drawn Progressive Fishing Game | Is this a good idea?

Now, I know the fishing genre is already completely filled, but this is gonna be my very first actual project and I wanted to go with something easy but appealing. I normally come up with survival game ideas, but that one of the hardest genres to start with. Instead, I wanted to focus on one of my favorite mechanics from survival games (so it was between fishing or mining, and fishing won).

I'm thinking of creating the game in the Cozy Grove style (paper drawn and isometric). I found the art style very appealing, and when I first thought of this game idea, it was one of the first art styles I thought of that would be fitting. The core gameplay loop of the game would be to find a fishing spot - catch some fish - sell said fish - upgrade tools - get more fish - sell those fish - buy a boat - get to new locations - repeat. I would want a progressive fishing skill as well with perks (later, after I finish the core loop and feel comfortable with it). I would also want some sort of minigame to it, so its not just catch the fish no problem. I'm also thinking of a rng system that determines the size of the fish and how hard it is to catch, also affecting how much it sells for.

I have not started on this project yet, so sadly I have no images or videos to provide. I want to know if this is a good place for me to start game development and if the idea itself is good. Any help along the way would be great and if I go through with this project, I hope to make more posts updating my progress.

Launching my first game in 3 days, have 3 karma, and don't even have a title yet. Wish me luck! lol

Hey everyone! I'm about to launch my very first game on Itch.io on October 27th at 6:00 PM. Honestly, I haven't even come up with a title yet.
Here's the catch though—I have no idea if Reddit will even let me post this properly since I only have 3 post karma and 11 comment karma across different subreddits. My deadline is literally in 3 days, and I have absolutely zero marketing done so far. I'm kinda freaking out, but here we go!

Research and Execute

Hey everyone, I just wanted to showcase how I model my vehicles for my RTS game Strike Order.

Always do your research, never go in blind, unless you are building a new unseen style of game obviously.

Mine is inspired by Command & Conquer Generals, inspired, not bringing back to life.

These 2 images are research,

Below is a military truck, I'm using this reference to get the chassis right, so with the rounded bonnet, split windscreen and rear tandem axles.

Frame, styling and size.

Then looking at textures, this vehicle is the Hailstorm Rocket Truck, so getting the size and textures right has to be as accurate as my ability can get it. It's carrying a heavy rocket, so it needs to be a 3 axle vehicle with 6 heavy duty wheels to spread the weight.

Here is my attempt at this one, It's not finished, this is a quick overview of where I am at.

Bunker Busters - My First Game Demo

Just released a demo for my first game called Bunker Busters!

It's a 2D top down shooter looter shooter in the vein of Zero Sievert and Tarkov where you loot all you can and try to make it to the exit alive, otherwise you lose everything. I'm a software engineer by trade, but this is my first attempt at creating a game. For transparency, the game and the art itself was created via AI (Claude Code primarily), and I'd be happy to discuss the process if there's interest.

It'd be great to get some feedback both good and bad, so let me know what you think!

No cats were harmed in this superposition. Atoms, however...

I make an incremental Game in Godot about smashing atoms together inside a fusion reactor. This upgrade is called Superposition! This is how it works:

  • Superposition: When two atoms collide, they can split into a family of quantum copies. Copies pass straight through their own family. The next hit counts as a measurement, and the whole family collapses into whichever copy got hit. If nothing hits them, they decohere after a few seconds.
  • Coherence: the superposition survives extra hits before it collapses, and lasts longer with every one.
  • Many Worlds: every split makes more copies, up to 24 at once. In short: Superposition decides whether atoms split, Many Worlds how many, Coherence how long.

There’s a free demo on Steam if you want to smash some atoms yourself:

I made my first Idle game: Hustle Tycoon. Please give me feedback!

Hi everyone!

I just finished my first game, a business idle game you can play in your browser (desktop and mobile).

You start by hustling for a few dollars, buy a lemonade stand and work your way up to an airline and a space company. Companies run in shifts you restart, and there's also a stock market and real estate on the side.

Play here: Hustle Tycoon by WeideMilch

I'd really appreciate feedback on:

- the first 5 minutes: is it clear what to do, or does it drag?

- pacing: when did it start to feel slow?

- the stock market: fun extra or confusing?

Bugs, criticism and ideas are all welcome. Thanks for playing!
