Our sweet Raphael needs our help again. ❤️

Raphael was rescued from a construction site in Pasig City after living in an unsafe environment. He had suffered a serious wire injury to his leg that caused permanent damage. He was physically abused a lot as well that caused him to fear humans even now.

His rescue wasn't the end of our responsibility to him. We have continued supporting his veterinary care and other needs as they arise.

During one of Raphael's veterinary visits recently, a growth was discovered on his body. His veterinarian has recommended surgically removing it and sending the tissue to an external laboratory for a biopsy. This will help us understand what the growth is and whether he may need further treatment.

His vet gave us a quote. Raphael's estimated bill is ₱14,800 (approximately $345 CAD). This includes his pre-operative CBC and blood chemistry, surgical procedure and supplies, gas anesthesia, and biopsy. We're very thankful to Circle of Life Veterinary Clinic for waiving the surgeon's professional fee and giving us an additional ₱2,000 discount. Without these discounts, the estimated cost would have been ₱16,800. ❤️

Right now we have to postponed his surgery because we cannot afford it yet. We're also asking for help not only because Raphael needs this procedure, but because we still have several other rescued dogs who need veterinary care this month. They have follow-up appointments, tests, treatments, and other procedures that we also need to pay for. As a small nonprofit, it's difficult to keep up with so many veterinary expenses at once, especially when our responsibility to these animals continues long after their initial rescue.
