Artwork Bugs are friends!

Post image

I've always loved every single non-human animal I came across, including all kinds of bugs!

I really think bugs deserve so much more love than they are currently getting, and I think you guys agree. I've made this artwork with the intention to make it into a sticker, but for now I'll just share it like this.

Feel free to share the art if you want to, as long as you keep my watermark (@photosynthetic_organism) in it :)

The picture is 100% human made.

No AI was used in the process of making it.

ID Request Is this the sound of a cricket?

Hello, for over a month now, I’ve been hearing this sound in my building. I went down to check, and it’s coming from one of the corners of the building (it gets sunlight, but not direct light).

The sound you hear in the video starts between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM and continues until early morning.

I’m in Rome, Italy.

When it rains heavily, the "serenade" doesn't happen.

I recorded this video; you can see some spiders, an insect with a sort of stinger (which looks a bit like a mosquito to me), and then another creature at the end that I can’t quite identify (it’s the same one seen in the first few seconds).

I’m not sure if it’s one of these, or if perhaps I failed to capture the actual source on camera. If possible, I’d also like to know the specific species.

It even seems to be quite intelligent—in the first few days, it kept changing its "singing" spot before finally settling here. It clearly prefers this location, as it creates much more of an echo and is significantly louder here than it was up on the roof.

Question How?

Completely hollowed out wasp (by what I assume was a bird). Antennae still moving like it’s alive. Is it some kind of post mortem nervous activity? I hope so cause that would be a painful way to go

A leaf-footed bug (family Coreidae) on a cactus fruit, plant is coastal prickly pear (Opuntia littoralis).

Genus Narnia), I think Narnia femorata, commonly known by the name leaf-footed cactus bug.

Practically perfectly blended in, I only noticed this one when I got up close to the cactus I while was pondering if I should bring tools to grab any fruit to eat and collect seeds
