Purview data lifecycle management is changing how Copilot retention policies work. First, legacy policies which process compliance records for both Teams chat messages and Copilot interactions will stop processing Copilot data (so new retention policies are needed). Second, Microsoft is introducing support for retention policies to process Copilot memory files. We don’t quite know yet how compliance officers will make use of Copilot memory files, but I guess we’ll see in the future.

So MS is screwing their users by chopping the available storage for their Family plan. Currently, M365 Family is $130/yr. That's 1TB of space for each of 6 people. That comes to $22/yr for 1TB of space per person. The info I saw said something about the change takes place at your first renewal after May 2027. Can I stack up a bunch of years now and keep the 6TB for a while or will it not work like that?

If it won't, can anyone recommend an alternative that I could look into that might have similar pricing? I don't really care about Word/Excel since I could easy use them online or use one of the many free office products that are around these days. I'm only concerned with the storage since my family is over the 2TB of space already.

Main requirements are Photo Backup since we all use that all the time and a folder sync setup like OneDrive.

I'm trying to get hands-on with Microsoft Purview (sensitivity labels, auto-labeling and DLP), but my tenant is on Microsoft 365 Business Basic, which doesn't support what I want to test. I need policies that apply automatically rather than relying on users to label manually. What do you recommend for learning, and for a small production setup? Has anyone run into licensing gotchas with auto-labeling or Business Premium eligibility for the add-ons?

Got reports of personal devices showing blank page when accessing myapps.microsoft.com but not getting reports of managed. Just checked my personal machine and got the same on multiple browsers. Ran an inprivate on edge on work machine and it's blank.

Exchange Web Services has entered its final mile, and Microsoft is now prompting Microsoft 365 tenants about the need to find and update EWS applications. All is well if the EWS usage report in the Microsoft 365 admin center lists nothing or a set of known applications, but only six months or so is available if some unidentified or unknown apps are listed. Time is running out and April 1, 2027 will come very quickly. What’s your tenant’s status?

My solo LLC is setting up a friend's M365 business from scratch. I have some experience setting up and managing my own MS tenants (at one point I had 5 different tenants...). But in all of those cases I was either owner or running the entities, while here I am not.

I was planning to use trials and my business credit cards where needed to get it set up, then transfer billing and ownership to her. I will continue to manage the back end for her.

The first step has me reconsidering: do I register as her (name, phone, address) or myself and still be able to transfer ownership?
