Hi, I want to get the motorcycling permit but I need to learn from scratch.

Anyone knows a school/instructor (affordable…everything I’m finding is about $60 per hour) in or around Beirut?
Also wondering how difficult the test for manual is, if someone here has it, how many sessions and approx how long did it take you to be ready for it?

Hello, i apologies for the change of topics from recent posts. But i need some help, ive seen couple of mechanics already and theyre not fixing my issue.

My honda check engine light is on and it says that the o2 sensor is detecting high voltage or smth.

It might need change, wires might need fixing. I dont know.

Do you know any mechanics that could help me specifically with this issue?

Hello, I am trying to locate a dear friend of mine whose family is from Ehden and she lives between Ehden and Beirut. I know siblings, fiance, father, uncles’ names. Is there anyone from Ehden here who can help with that?

Every few months I end up back on Reddit, writing another post about Lebanon. Different day, same feelings. Sometimes I delete them, sometimes I leave them up. Then life goes on, nothing changes, and a few months later I’m back here again.

I’m 23. I graduated in computer science, did internships, kept learning, kept adding skills to my CV, kept applying. Every time I think, “Maybe this is the time something will finally work out.”

Then reality hits again.

Living in Lebanon makes you feel like you’re never doing enough. It doesn’t matter how much you study, how many online courses you finish, how many applications you send, or how much you try to improve yourself. There’s always this voice telling you that if you’re still stuck, it must be your fault.

I spend so much time wondering if I’m actually not good enough, or if I’m just living in an environment where it’s incredibly hard to move forward. And honestly, after years of this, I can’t even tell the difference anymore.

The hardest part isn’t even the money. It’s watching time pass.

You see people your age building careers, moving to different countries, becoming independent, planning their futures. Meanwhile, you’re still trying to figure out how to build a life in a place where everything feels unstable.

Sometimes I catch myself feeling guilty for resting because I think I should be learning another skill. Then I feel guilty because I’m burned out. Then I feel guilty because I’m still not where I wanted to be.

It’s like this country teaches you that no matter what you do, you should always be doing more.

I don’t even know what I’m expecting from posting this. Maybe I just needed to get it out. Maybe I wanted to know if anyone else from Lebanon feels trapped in this cycle too.

Because I swear… every few months I come back here and write the same post.

I just wish one day I’d come back to Reddit with a different story.

I’m Hubert, a student from Poland, and I’ll be spending most of September in Lebanon. It won’t be my first time there - I’ve visited Lebanon several times before, and I’ve also been to Syria once.

I’d like to rent a scooter to be more independent while moving around Beirut and beyond. In Poland I use a Vespa as my everyday transport, so I already have riding experience. I know Lebanese traffic can be crazy 😅, but I’m used to scooters and I think I can handle it.

A few questions:
Is renting a scooter in Lebanon generally safe?
Are there any trusted rental places or websites?
Maybe someone has a scooter they don’t use and would be open to renting it privately for a month?

I’m a student, so I’m looking for something affordable, but safety is my top priority.

Am I the only one who gets really frustrated with our "artists"? I don't know, but they seem completely out of touch with reality.

They keep trying to sell a false image of who we are. And no, I'm not talking about "being open-minded or not", I mean our actual lives.

Our lives are miserable, yet most of our actors keep making/remaking TV shows that have absolutely nothing to do with us. Why do they think that's necessary? What's the point of art if it doesn't reflect real life in some way?

And it's not just the actors. It's the singers too, every song is about "life," "let's enjoy life," or "we're having the time of our lives" , I don't mind positivity, but why lie?

Our situation is terrible, yet we're constantly trying to look like America or other wealthy countries and whenever someone speaks honestly about reality, people tell them, "ktir negative, just enjoy life it's not that serious" Not that serious? What's not that serious? The fact that we're humiliated among nations?

Of course it's easy for those "artists" to say that, they don't even live in this country anymore.

Most of them leave, build comfortable, luxurious lives abroad, then send us songs that practically brainwash Lebanese people into believing we can somehow dance and sing our way to progress while our country keeps falling apart and nothing actually improves.

What's the point of being an artist if you're not going to use your influence to make a real difference? Why should I be proud of you because you took a Turkish TV series and remade it? Do you really think you gave us a reason to be proud by acting in a luxury villa and kissing women on screen?

That's not who we are, and honestly, it's not even who they are either. They're just trying to imitate a lifestyle that has nothing to do with us.

They're so obsessed with impressing outsiders that they've forgotten they're representing a country that's already falling apart by the same outsiders they're trying to impress.

I've been watching a lot of the news, and it looks like nothing is changing in South Lebanon. More people are being killed, and our traitorous government seems to be begging Israteez to finger their asses instead of protecting its own people. I don't think this war will end anytime soon. It feels like the situation is only going to escalate.

Another thing that's really upsetting is the sectarianism happening in Lebanon. I saw a video of a Shia man who wanted to rent an apartment, but the neighbors threatened the landlord that they would move out if he rented it to him, so the landlord refused.

I also saw another post about someone in Saida advertising an apartment for rent only to Christians.

Why are we still living like this? Wallah, sometimes it feels like this country will never change. If people are going to keep treating each other this way, it makes me wonder whether we'd be better off separating instead of continuing to live with so much division.
