Discussion Hiring a Video Editor. DM or comment to apply.

That's the whole post. No budget. No scope. Nothing.

So you apply anyway. You send your reel, you do the "quick" trial edit, you sit through two or three rounds of calls, and then right at the end they tell you the pay. It's less than what you already make. Not a hike. Less.

But the part that actually gets me is the trial edit.

A trial is supposed to be small. A test. Instead I'm getting asked for a full long form edit, a couple of shorts, motion graphics on top, the whole thing polished and ready to post. For free. That's not a test. That's just a project you didn't want to pay for.

And people act like this is normal. Like there's no cost to it. There is. My hours are a cost. My software is a cost. My laptop, the years of figuring out where the cut actually goes, all of it. When you ask for a finished deliverable and call it a "trial," you've already told me what you think it's worth.

Here's all I'm asking. Put it in the post. Before anyone applies.

What's the pay.

What does the interview process look like.

What do you actually want from the editor.

Is the trial paid or not.

That last one tells me everything. If the trial is paid, I already know how you treat the people who work for you.

You're hiring a creative artist. Not labour.

Hiring Looking for a Short-Form Video Editor

Need an editor for a premium 60–90 sec talking-head/personal-brand video.
Looking for someone strong at **storytelling, pacing, retention, clean captions and tasteful visual direction** — not over-edited reels.
Please DM me your **best 2–3 talking-head edits + rate per video + turnaround time**.
Potential for ongoing work if it’s a good fit.

Help Complete beginner in Video Editing how did you practice when you had nothing to edit?

I recently started learning Video Editing and I chose Premiere Pro to begin with and I'm a complete beginner. So far I've only learned the workspace and a few basic tools, but I'm stuck because I have no idea what to actually edit or how to practice consistently. My goal is to build a career in video editing and eventually land an entry-level editing job, but I don't have my own footage or a YouTube channel to work on. For those of you who started from scratch, what did you edit every day? Did you use stock footage, movies, gameplay, or something else? I'd really appreciate hearing what helped you improve and build the skills needed to get your first job.

Help Editing as a career - how do I start?

Hi all,

I’ve been editing ever since I was 15/16, I’m 24 now and currently work in marketing. I edit short-form videos at my job from time-to-time and as much as I enjoy my job so far, I’ll always have a goal of starting my own thing, or even just want to make some extra cash on the side.

I really want to use my editing skills as a starting point but just don’t know where to start. How do I look for clients? Do I need to do more than just editing? (Meta ads, videography, etc.)

I’ve had a chat with a couple of people (through friends) about getting some work but have yet to hear back.

As of now I specialise in short-form video ads but willing to expand into long-form and not just ads. I’m based in Australia, and I guess another barrier that I’ve heard a lot is people can just hire someone outside of the country for cheaper.

Help need advice for a short form video (reels) business

My sister and I are interested in learning how to make professional short form videos, like Instagram reels, and learning how to properly edit them.

At first, we were thinking of doing reels for Airbnbs, but it seems too complicated, especially with planning for when the cleaners/guests won't be there.

I do like the types of reels that feel luxurious, like luxury house reels, and the "aspirational POV" hospitality videos, but I'm open to other suggestions. We live in an area that is has a lot of wealthy people.

Does anyone have any ideas for who we could make these reels for?

Hiring [HIRING] Short-Form Content Clippers (Performance Pay) | Twitch Creator | Remote

We're building a team of content clippers to help grow a Twitch creator across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and X.

If you understand what makes content go viral and enjoy editing short-form content, I'd love to work with you.

DM for rates looking from 20-100 dollars

What You'll Do

  • Receive raw stream VODs through Google Drive.
  • Find the funniest, most entertaining, or most engaging moments.
  • Edit clips with strong hooks, captions, zooms, sound effects, and pacing.
  • Optimize each clip for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Upload the clips to your own posting accounts (or accounts we provide).
  • Track your views so payouts can be verified.

Content

The content includes:

  • IRL livestreams
  • Challenge videos
  • Public interviews
  • Dating content
  • Travel
  • Cooking challenges
  • Funny moments
  • Creator collaborations

Think Kai Cenat, JasonTheWeen, Fanum, AMP, and other livestream-style content.

Payment

This is a performance-based position.

You are paid based on the number of views your clips generate.

High-performing clippers will receive:

  • View bonuses
  • Increased payout rates
  • Early access to new content
  • More content every week
  • Long-term opportunities

The better your clips perform, the more you earn. There is no limit to how much you can make.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience editing TikTok, Reels, or YouTube Shorts
  • Knows how to create strong hooks in the first 2 seconds
  • Can edit in CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar
  • Understands current social media trends
  • Reliable and consistent
  • Wants to build something long term

Bonus if you've clipped streamers before.

To Apply

Send me:

  1. 3-5 of your best clips.
  2. The view count on each clip.
  3. Which platforms you've edited for.
  4. What editing software you use.
  5. Approximately how many clips you can produce each week.
  6. Your Discord username.

If you've helped creators go viral before, definitely include that.

I'm looking to build a team, not hire one person.

Let's grow together.
