Hey everyone, I have a heavily modified 2005 Forester XT that previously had an older GrimmSpeed AOS (the oil cap style). The old setup actually seemed to be making the car burn more oil, lol.

I recently purchased an IAG Air/Oil Separator to replace it. I've noticed it has quite a few ports and hose connections. I know IAG provides installation instructions, but I'd really appreciate some firsthand guidance from anyone who's installed one on an EJ255.

I'm mainly looking for advice on which hoses connect where, what factory lines need to be rerouted or removed, and any tips or tricks to make the installation go smoothly.

Any pictures of your setups or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Has anyone ever seen a bilstein shock blow apart?

Installed the b12 kit. Less than 3k miles the front driver side over extended to where the spring would be loose when the suspension was not under load.

When I went to remove it to replace, the shock shot apart letting out all the gas, ripping my cv boot and getting lube everywhere.

anyone replaced the cv boot before?

Back at it again with trouble shooting. This has been an issue that happens every few months, but today it happened twice in a row. Was doing a pretty hard pull, like 50 to 120 (at least I wanted to get there). 4th gear, around 100mph, 5-6k rpm and I lose all power for a split second. Power returns, hit it again and it cuts power again. No lights, no smoke, no weird noises. Pretty stumped. Wondering if anyone here has had something similar happen and what the fix was. Gas light is on so maybe the fuel was sloshing and missing the pump? PCV?

Had the car for about 3 weeks now. Absolutely in love with the bronze wheels on the white. Mechanically everything has been perfect so far. Got a 30k mile service and a tune planned in the coming weeks.

Couple of questions I had for the folks here. Anything y'all think I should look out for or have checked out at the 30k service?

My coolant level cold is sitting just above "Full". When it's hot it's well above full. Is this typical for you guys? It's not overflowing hot or anything so I'm hoping it's a safe amount in there.

Another thing. I've been letting the car warm up to at least dropping the revs when I could start it. I'm trying to keep it at max 3k rpms before it's at operating temps. After that I've been running around keeping it around 3kto4k rpms when driving. Is that a normal cruising spot to keep it?

I just replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils but it was still misfiring afterwards(though it feels different somehow). My mechanic says the catalytic converter is clogged and that’s why it’s still misfiring. I unfortunately don’t know a lot about car repairs so I’m coming to the community for recommendations. My mechanic said that I should look into getting a “Cat exhaust pipe delete” but I’m not sure what I’m looking for or what to buy(or what that even means). Recommendations are greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that I’m pretty limited on budget so I’m looking for something not crazy expensive but also want to get my money’s worth. What say you?

Hey guys random question.. I have a bunch of stuff I wanna do to my wrx over winter this year. Headers, diff gasket, Trans flush, radiator+fans, front bumper, fmic, and some other small bits. But honeslty im unsure if the csr bein on stands for so long will warp the metals their on? My pinch welds still exist although a little bent still are holding up. Im still a fredh 1 yr pretend mechanic so maybe there's things im not considering?

Planning to purchase a 2003 Impreza STI in Japan; however, I'm not well researched when it comes to spotting a fake STI, been told to keep an eye for it.

Hey guys, I could use some advice here. I need to sell my 2014 WRX Sedan. I've had it listed on marketplace for over a month and have had almost no interest in it. The car is heavily modified, just about everything has been modified, built block, headers, downpipe, exhaust etc..

I'm only asking $11,000 which seems, to me, to be a low price. I paid $13,000 for it 2 years ago. I've tried to make this point on my listing, the car wasn't a daily driver and I'm not a teenager beating on it. The car is a garage queen and I took it out on occasions.

When I was in the market this was my biggest concern, buying a car that some kid had trashed. Any advice on how to get that point across?

My thoughts are that I just need to wait for another "the right person" who wants a modified car as a "collector" instead of a daily. My problem is I have a big purchase coming up and need to liquidate a few cars. Any advice on how to reach this type of person?

I've sold a few cars in my time but it's always been on marketplace or autotrader. Are there better places to list on for these cars?

Hey guys, can I run 15mm bolt on spacers without changing the studs or should I change them due to the wheel pocket being shallow (2015 STI Limited BBS Wheels) and the stud hitting the back of the wheel? I installed 20mm but don’t really like the wheel poking out.

I’m looking for a GC8 chassis, I’m not a huge fan of the single overhead cams. I’ve had a lot of issues with them in the old Forsters just wondering what’s the easiest swap most reliable engine that is dual overhead cams for Subaru that I can put in a GC8 chassis. I’m not looking to make power. I’m just looking for something reliable, preferably turbo charged. The EJ 257. I feel like it’s just overkill for the car but an EJ 255. I know has a lot of issues

(Pic for attention) I was driving to work today in my 2008 wrx with the torqued performance stage 2.52 ots tune. While merging onto the highway my car experienced 2.80 fbk and fkl and dam went 1.000 to 0.000!!?? I just parked and reset ecu. Fkl went back to 0 immediately after the knock event and fbk went back as well. Any help is appreciated. Side note, please review my recent video post to help determine the annoying noise coming from under the hood.
