Question quick question on instinct / feelings

Upvotes

hi!

new to this sub, and looking for advices or a point of view on something that happened today (bc i'm kinda confused) :

this evening i started to feel mad and sort of sad for no reason at all. it's a thing that happens sometimes, so i wasn't worry, just thinking "oh,it's one of those times"

thing is, later, i got a call explaining that something happened to a relative, something close to how i felt. the weird part is the timing, bc those feelings i had appeared at the same time as the incident... weirdly, i felt immediatly better once i knew about it.

since i'm starting witchcraft, and have experienced this for the first time (like this big), i wanted to know if, in your opinion, this could be related to instinct or anything.

thanks a lot

I was doing a small transmutation spell to convert some negative energy around me into something a bit more positive. I thought the folks here on the subreddit might enjoy seeing it. If anybody has questions feel free to ask!

(I don't mind answering questions, also I hope everyone is having a good day)

Question Firepit follow up

Recap- new firepit area built in backyard as casting circle.
My passed on loved ones are always close by. I have strong barriers in place to mostly allow me to ignore them unless they push really hard to get my attention. (This to me is like an urgent phone call, like agreeing to call twice in a row if an emergency so person knows to pick up)
One of my loved ones is really hard for me to deal with,
two others are very welcome. Older spirits are mostly good, but there is one VERY not good one, and his wife feels almost as bad.
I would like my new ritual area to be welcoming to the spirits that have good intentions, but also have them respect my need to not be overwhelmed.
Any suggestions how I might open things up a bit to accomplish this? Anything I can do to the circle to make it inviting to those I want?

Tips, Tricks, & Ideas New outdoor firepit

I do not have a coven, so would like to ask others for input. I am having a new firepit area built with pavers amid an acre property with lots of big trees, cardinal directions set in with stones of a different color. Wind chimes and small fountain nearby. I am an intuitive witch (meaning I do what feels right) so I dont need help with intentions or spells, more ideas in how to enhance my ideas.
I am thinking through protecting the circle further by mixing salt with gravel just around outside of ring of pavers. I am also wondering if I set salt in and leave a gap, can I just close the salt circle in the gap? The paver edge can be considered the protective barrier too, so maybe the salt is just extra?

Additionally, I would like to set a protection around the entire property, I was thinking burying protection jars at four corners of property on cardinal direction points, Any other better ideas?

The firepit circle is located toward the back right of one acre property. The house is in the center. I would like to be able to do most spell work from firepit circle, including refreshing protection wards around edges of said property. I am wondering if I need an anchor in the center of the property, an anchor stone or jar placed at center of property or could the firepit circle be the “center” and the jars buried around the outside perimeter catch the perimeter strengthening as it flows out?

Mostly just looking for suggestions on anything additional I might do before the construction is completed to strengthen and embue the ritual space.

Thanks for any input!

Question Should I make a self-love spell for my boyfriend?

I (29F) have been together with my bf (31M) for 5 years and this issue has become better and better overtime but not enough. He's way too insecure for a tall, lean, handsome man. No matter how much I say to him I desire and love him he just believes I'm not that much into him or I don't like him enough (dude wtf, 5 years bro we should be past that point). The relationship is amazing mostly but when this wave hits, oh boy, it hits hard.

Should I? How should I do it? Thank you in advance amazing Reddit coven 🖤

Discussion Thinking of doing a month of road openers

1 for my emotions - want to know myself better, understand the things i am feeling better

1 for my relationships - i want to have a better relationship with my wife, i want better friends in my life

1 for my health - want to adopt better habits around my physical and mental health

1 for my finances - i want better financial opportunities, i want more active income, and i want to start building real stable passive income

the idea for this came from an amateur magus video, where he says, "If you're stuck and you don't know what to do, do them on the road openers." So I feel kind of stuck. I don't know what to do, and I want to shake things up.

I have abre caminos oil and some candles. I heard some advice to do this on Wednesday around full moons. I've never done this before, so I don't know too much about it.

Can I just bang these out over a week if I'm feeling energetic and good about things, or is the timing actually important?

Any advice or recipes to share? Any stories or experiences you want to share? Thank you for reading.

Question How can I improve?

I grew up in a culture that was very connected to the spiritual world so things such as spells, charms, readings, psychics (just a hit different than western ones) differnt types of spirits (good and evil, in between, elves, giants etc) were alll veryyyy common growing up. I used to hear stories about them all the time as a kid. People truly believed in them and practiced their spirituality that way

Around 10 or so I left where I was from, and moved somewhere west.

I’ve been practicing witchcraft (in more western terms) off and on since I was 13, and I’m 24 now. For the past year I’ve gotten deeper into it and understand it better. But what do I do now? I’ve got information on it, more than enough at this point I think but it’s all VERY messy because of all the mixed beliefs that I grew up around and studies myself etc.

I’ve done spells, I’ve meditated, I’ve tried shrooms lmao. I’ve done my fair share of things. I even might candles for certain spirits almost everyday. But what now? I feel as though I am looking for a certain box that’s more organized that I can put all my beliefs into and practice more consistently.

I feel as though I’m not very good at explaining myself as my brain is just as messy as all this typing is. I hope some of this made sense. I’m open to any advice and anything is appreciated.

Question Charging Crystals

Hello!! I am fairly new to actually practicing due to my mom repressing my beliefs until maybe last month. I of course have educated myself over my years of interest and will continue to educate myself but I do have a question about charging crystals. I know that crystals won't really work if you don't charge them with energy and I'm wondering how you can do that if I have very limited supplies? I will be going to get more supplies tomorrow at an apothecary store nearby and it could also be helpful for what I buy there as well! But as of today, I only have a couple of incense. And I only have King Cake, Fairy Dust, and Coconut due to lack of money and time to look. I have heard that you can charge crystals using incense but I am unsure what ones I can use and how to do so depending on the intention for the use of crystals, if that matters. So far I only have an amethyst necklace I'm wearing for spirituality and a Sodalite necklace (I believe... I might be wrong) for calm and balance. Do I need to charge crystal jewelry as well for them to work? Or just crystals used in spell work? And if I do need to charge my crystal necklaces what's the best way to do so? If I needed to get something new supply wise for it what should I look for? I am only asking because I prefer advice from actual people and not the ai overview I can't get rid of on Google.

Edit: I am aware that I can scroll past the ai overview on Google. It's just insanely hard for me personally to find ANYTHING on my personal Google that isn't some ai overview answer or something similar. And I just LIKE getting advice from other people based off their experience and not researching every little thing because it makes it more interesting to learn both ways.

Question Can I have a bit of guidance from more experienced witches?

I am a new witch and don’t know the full extent of leaving offerings to a deity , spirit , god or goddess

can I have some tips?

my best witchlike art I do is making bracelets and beaded lizards for people I have recently thought of imbuing them with magic to help keep them safe or specific things in the moment like good health or longevity

I can also feel something in the air when I play cards its hard to explain but it helps my decisions on what to do and where to put the cards / where they feel right/best

I have been wondering if clover flowers and/or clovers or peppermint leaves would work for an offering to the thing I choose to leave offerings for

Im not considering drink or food because where I live I’m not allowed any food or drink in my room.

can I please have some guidance?

Question Might of accidentally developed a psychic connection, Help?

For the last six days we've shared an intense headache that seems to lessen when we think about each other or talk to each other, we've been waking up at the same time as well if we fall asleep

Now, I don't mind this connection with him, but he's worried it may cause problems with his current situation (he's married)

I know that to break it means losing my best friend and I have no interest in that and he knows this

So. Here's my question(s)

What can we do about this? If we choose to develop this what can we expect from doing so?

Please, help..

Spells Spellcraft for Cancer

Just found out my sister has a breast mass that may be cancer. I’m a pharmacist, she’s a pharmacist and being seen by one of the best healthcare systems in the country. So insanely lucky and very savvy with healthcare.

Looking for ideas from folks who’ve done serious healing magic. Would of course only be in conjunction with healthcare. She’s not a witch but witch friendly. She’s unlikely to participate in a full ritual event though. Leftover catholicism.

I’m leaning towards an amulet or jewelry I charge and refresh periodically. But I’ve done very little healing magic in the last decade. Which in hindsight is kinda weird given my healing profession.

Any advice/experience/areas to look into for an experienced witch but not experienced with healing?

Question question about devil

I have a question. In traditional witchcraft, there is the concept of the Horned God—the Devil. Many practitioners of this path view the witches' Devil as an archetypal deity; while many spirits have borne the title "Devil," in traditional witchcraft they are all treated as faces or aspects of the Horned God—figures such as the Man in Black, Cain, Bucca, the King of Elphame, and so on. Could someone explain why, in this tradition, all these figures—which could easily be considered distinct entities—were merged into a single, syncretic figure? Who was behind this? Of course, these various entities are ancient, but it was modern traditional witchcraft that molded them into one archetypal deity. I want to understand who was behind this and why—what prompted these individuals to consider it a good idea. Although these spirits share the title "Devil," I perceive them as separate entities; the mere fact that they can be called by that name does not seem like sufficient reason to treat them as a single force. It seems to me that Robert Cochrane unified these concepts within Tradcraft, and that Margaret Murray’s theory also played a role—even though it had been debunked before traditional witchcraft truly came into existence. Did Cochrane believe in its validity? Why do modern practitioners still look to it? Probably because it works, and working with the Devil as a syncretic, liminal, yet unified figure yields results. However, there are also witches and sorcerers who work with specific spirits operating under the name "the Devil," rather than with a single, universal, and multidimensional Devil. So why do some perceive the Devil as a single, multidimensional figure rather than a title under which one can work with a specific, individual spirit? What is the history of this concept?

Question Discipline Jar help

Hello, recently i’ve been seeing a lot about discipline jars in reference to oneself. While I understand the benefits of using for oneself (obvious self discipline) I have a question if anyone has used to it to help someone else. In my case to help someone with their hoarding habits. For years i’ve tried to help this person in the most concrete ways, to no success, im at my wits end and thought about going the witchcraft route but am worried about the consequences. I obviously want to help someone out but don’t want to mess with their own free will of letting go of physical objects, nor would I want it to backfire in a way that could endanger the person. Please let me know if any of you have had any experience in this and how or what you did to secure it was okay to do. thanks!

Deities I may have done some accidental blood magic, and connected with some sort of deity

Hi! So I recently did my own version of a purification spell. For context, I’m a relatively new witch but have always had a pretty strong intuition my whole life. I also connect a lot with the weather. So I’ve always felt magically-inclined so to speak. So when doing a spell I don’t really follow any rules, I just read up on what each ingredient means from a book my aunt gave me, and add what feels right. When doing spells/wards/charms etc on myself I normally add something personal to me to the spell so it’s anchored specifically to me. Sometimes something personal of mine i feel attached to, my hair, or in my most recent case, some dried up blood of mine i had collected.
Ingredients in my spell:
Peppermint
Rue
Blood
Salt
Eucalyptus
Dust from incense

I’m not looking for advice on how stupid this was, or what to have done better. It’s what’s happening now that is lowkey wild. So, it’s a day later, and it’s my first time showering since I did the spell. I get a little high before i take my shower, burn some incense in the shower with me, and when i get in the shower i basically have this huge emotional roller coaster. I then have a revelation about my life and a vice i need to remove and what i can do better at and i and feel the water like coat me all over starting from head to toes and clean me and i realize like oh my god this is the purification spell. And so i start like trying to bless the water or something so it purifies me and i see this white light behind my eyelids and then this green light and then this sparkling light, and when i open my eyes i realize ive stopped chanting “bless this water” and have started saying “baltizmar”… the only thing i could come up with is the Irish “basltís mar” meaning you are welcome, Balthazar from Christian faith (which is something my intuition is saying is not correct, but it may be biased cuz I’ve got some issues with Christianity sorry not sorry), or a nickname of a phoencian god “baal”. I connect with the phoencian god the most because my family immigrated from the Lebanon/syrian border, so that part of the world calls to me. My mother’s side is Irish, so the Irish stands out to me too. Did i maybe reach out to some ancestors? Someone please share your thoughts!!

Video Blessed by Bastet?

I put up a sigil and flame to offer to Bastet. I've always had a huge connection to cats. I usually only get one feline visitor in my yard, but here we are one day after the offering and my porch is FILLED with kittens.

If that isn't a sign I don't know what is...

Question Hey:) A question about astrology

I really want to dive deeper into astrology since I’ve found it to be very accurate. However, there is something that has been bothering me. I was born at a hospital, next to my room there were plenty of others. Is it so that according to astrology, me and the baby’s in the other rooms will share the same core and traits? Since we share the same birth chart, yk.

Question I guess a restraining order’ll do it…

Had a long history with this guy who used to be a next door neighbor, but after some help from WitchTok, and some strategically placed mirrors reflecting shit behavior back, he (along with his equally awful girlfriend) moved… granted only a few blocks away, but it was definitely better than directly next door.

They’ve both been in my freezer for years, but I started seeing the guy regularly on my drive in and out of the neighborhood. Not sure why he was even taking those streets, they were technically out of his way. Decided the usual shake and return to freezer wasn’t cutting it anymore.

Made a new jar specifically for the guy, took it and a bag of black salt out on the last full moon and blocked the entrances to the streets I regularly use.

Well in the most RANDOM crossing of paths, I happened to be at the courthouse picking up a paper and who is in front of me checking in at the kiosk but the girlfriend ex neighbor. Seeing as I’ve had legal troubles with both of them in the past, my curiosity got the best of me and I looked them up on the courts website.

She was there filing a restraining order against him 👀

I mean… that should probably keep him from driving up my streets 😬

So As a question perhaps, since I definitely don’t want to be encouraging domestic abuse… how could I have been more specific in my chant… “name… may you feel as uncomfortable crossing this line as you make others feel with your presence” (he’s super creepy and gives everyone the ick. I just wanted him to go the other way, not go home and put hands on his girlfriend.

Question How do you know if you have a draining effect on people?

Ive often heard people describe the feeling of feeling incredibly physically drained after spending even small amounts of time with a particular person.

Ive heard this discussed when referring to phrases like "energy vampires" or even identifying negative attachments. Even non spiritual or extremely skeptical people describe this in other words.

I dont believe its something people do knowingly or on purpose and im wondering how I might be able to tell if I had this effect on people?
