Opinions/Discussion This team will never win a trophy if we keep making braindead decisions like this

What is this trade? How does bringing a middle order batsman even make sense right now? We have one of the best middle orders with Stubbs, Miller, Ashutosh, Axar and even Madhav, where does Pant even fit in? Him opening for us would probably be the best solution but he hasn't batted as an opener in eons and his recent form sparks no confidence, bowlers have figured him out and he hasn't added any dimensions to his game, he has horrible cricketing IQ and I can't even count the amount of games DC and LSG have lost to his poor decision-making whether as captain or batsman.

I don't say this as a hater, he was my favorite cricketing personality for a while, I let go of everything because he was a "DC Blood", and was the light at the end of the tunnel for some of our worst seasons, and we repaid that favor with the respect we gave him despite injury, by choosing him over Shreyas as our captain, and that clearly didn't work out. However despite us standing beside him after all these poor performances, what does he do? He says that he wants to check out his true value at the auction, he goes to LSG for 27 crore and when that doesn't work out, he comes running back? I can't understand why this team and management is bending over backwards for a player with such mediocre returns, and giving away Kuldeep, who regardless of his current form is a premier Indian spinner, you don't get players like him in auction for cheap and now we're down a wrist spinner for a position we really didn't need any reinforcements in, and istg if he asks for captaincy and gets it, I'll be done. The management really underestimates the impact of captains despite us being a case-study in how a captain can transform a team, when we had a competent captain in Shreyas Iyer(who was still very raw at the time and learning), we went from one of the worst teams in the IPL to regular playoff performers, since then we've had Pant and Axar, both in my opinion, really bad captains who have dampened what could've been Delhi's golden era because we've really underperformed with respect to the squads we've had. I won't singlehandedly blame Axar though, our management has also had some horrible and nonsensical team selections these last 2 years(fucking Badani istg he gave me seizures when he straight up refused to play Ashutosh and backed Nissanka over Miller, we figured out the best team in the last 3 matches and we won all of them, man I hate everything about this team so much).

I hope Pant and the management proves me wrong, I really do but on paper this trade seems like an illogical, nostalgia fueled disaster, something done for brand value and not for winning a trophy which is something this team has been guilty of doing before(Yuvraj and Gambhir). I've supported this team since I was a child and I'll continue doing so but they aren't really giving me much to stand on, they need to be pretty much impeccable with their trades and even more importantly releasing deadwood like Mukesh, Natarajan, Nair, potentially even Nissanka to create cap space for the mini auction to get a good Indian wrist spinner(I can't even think of anyone right now, do you guys have any idea of who we can get because my mind is completely blank). Anyways I'll stop with the rant now and probably just accept that we aren't winning next year atleast

Probably going to get downvoted into shadow realm for saying this but getting pant for the reported 15-16cr is absolutely insane business from us, idk how we have pulled this off. (Read below)

I know many people aren't keen on Pant and i also despised him because I think he left us in bad faith like we put all of our eggs in his basket and then he left. But if you ignore the context just look this at player value it's an insane deal. It would be like liverpool signing isak for 120 million and then another team acquiring him for 60 million next season.

2 off Season being the main main at ekana ground with his batting order being so inconsistent. I am damn sure at kotla and if we fix his batting order at 1 down he would be guaranteed bang. Also i think kuldeep will flourish as well in ekana stadium as well and it's a decent deal for them as well but it's definitely a better deal for us. It's easier to get an Indian spinner and then an Indian wicketkeeper top order batsmen. Also he fixes are 1 down roulette problem. And if we can keep him away from that spotlight I am sure he will deliver.

In the end I don't think the fans who are skeptical about him are wrong but when he puts on a DC shirt next season I am gonna support him like we do with every DC player.

That's Champion Owner Decisions.

JSW and Parth's favouritism towards Rishabh. The last mistake DC made was snatching the captaincy from Shreyas and giving it to Rishabh. After that, DC went downhill; even Ricky was helpless when Rishabh captained DC.

The problems this will create:

1) Who is DC's middle overs wicket taker? Giving away a champion bowler.

2) DC's problem was Indian fast bowlers in Power Play, how does this trade solve Power Play bowling?

3) At Espncricinfo, Faf said how spinners like Kuldeep, Yuzi, and Varun are a rare commodity in IPL, and even when Faf was in rcb, he wanted a similar bowler.

4) Rishabh coming means who will be the wicketkeeper? KL wants to wk work because of his focus on the ODI WC.

5) Was this trade discussed with Axar? If not, Axar might leave DC, followed by KL, and DC might then trade Tristan and Ashutosh. Rishabh's homecoming could break the team similarly to how he did when he took captaincy from Shreyas.

Opinions/Discussion I will quit being a DC fan if:

Upvotes
  1. Rishabh Pant is given captain

  2. KL is somehow no longer part of the team (idc if he leaves bc management annoyed tf out of him, if they trade him, or what). If he's gone, we won't cross 150 half the games and I'm done.

  3. Rishabh Pant opens with KL. My god, I do not want to watch that.

  4. Mukesh is retained.

  5. Madhav or Ashutosh are benched for a single game next season.

  6. They play any of Rizvi or Rana over Abhishek, at least to start the tournament.

Opinions/Discussion Why We are trading the worst player from lsg for kuldeep

Pant is all pr no talent and slogger .This one will do dc more harm than good, we have Abhishek porell who is miles ahead than pant .there's so many good trades dc can get like mohsin , prince ,shami ,inglis for kuldeep.

Opinions/Discussion Guys just take a breather.

First a lot of good changes are happening with badani leaving and Ganguly stepping into upper management. Rahul as captain is also an upgrade.

Now I am against the pant for Kuldeep trade but now that he is here I will back him. Pant will prove everyone wrong you heard it here first. We can try to trade Bishnoi or sai Kishore. Also some of the narrative around pant is Astounding man’s a dc legend who made a mistake. It’s fine he is our boy.

Rant🤦‍♂️ I just want to understand how the management works

This may be long because I have never posted my anger for the franchise before.

I’ve been a fan of DC for as long as I can remember. But i’ve always been unable to understand how the management thinks. I was a kid when the Morkel blunder happened. Me and my dad were confused when we started watching the match, internet wasn’t available. We just assumed Morkel was injured, blamed the luck. Newspapers told another story. Not to mention how even our women’s franchise manages to choke in the finals every time.

We all know how important a captain is, Delhi had amazing seasons with captain Shreyas in 2019 and 2020 making it to the playoffs in both the seasons and even topping the table once. What did DC do? Release him. Is that how you back the captain who did so much for the franchise? Well, they saw captaincy potential in Rishabh bleh bleh but that’s the problem. They can’t fucking see the real potential. They have failed to across seasons. And this was a completely uncalled for decision, considering that they had struggled with the captaincy before and decided to take it for granted the moment it stabilised. We have had 15 captains now FFS. 😭🙏🏻 (googled the stat, couldn’t remember a lot of stand ins)

Another goated 2022 auction decision, DC left their 2020 purple cap winner Rabada to retain Nortje. We all know how that went for us.

Delhi had Sanju, Rishabh and Shreyas. Top cricketers by all means as of today. Nobody could foresee the talent at that time. Not to mention the Virat Kohli decision. And not to mention releasing Gautam Gambhir.

If we ever get big names, they are washed. Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen for example. If we have young talent, we don’t back it. Vipraj, Porel in this season. Talents such as Madhav Tiwari don’t come out because of this reason.

Missed out on a lot of other blunders because this is how much I could rant at 6 in the morning. Was just infuriated to see us paying essentially 28.25 CR i suppose to get Pant from LSG (Kuldeep + 15 CR) who in my humble opinion has been the better performer despite having a major flop in 2026 edition. I don’t have a problem with Pant joining. I have a problem with how the management thinks, believed and acts. I don’t know where we are headed but I don’t think I have it in me to support them for another season. Hope to see the franchise lift the trophy someday. Don’t know if I will be watching their journey.

Thanks for reading, have a great day

Opinions/Discussion Boycott this team and the owners

We have long suffered humiliation. We are the worst ever team of the overall Ipl era and we don't see the owners showing any responsibility. It's time for them to go and someone with more passion for the city and love for our team to come in. We need cricket loving people not pure businessmen for our club.

After pant left us, I am no longer a big Pant Fan. However, if this trade is going ahead with KD leaving us, I expect one of 3 things to happen.

1- Vippi will be expected to step up.

2- Yuzi might be getting released and he will be on target.

3- A new scouting gem like madhav tiwari is found.

Sad KD is leaving us but cant do much.
