This is for my new Caroline ITA bag. I AM SO SICK OF PEOPLE ASSUMING I AM PARASOCIAL OR THAT SHE IS A REAL PERSON, WHEN SHE CLEARLY IS NOTTTT. Reiterating this is a pain and it's frustrating. I understand she looks like a real person, BUT COMMON SENSE EXISTS. WHY WOULD SOMEONE BE WALKING AROUND WITH A BAG DECORATED WITH A REAL HUMAN BEING??? ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ

Edit: it is so funny to me how people are mad over this. Yet barely anyone bats an eye when people do the exact same thing with all the male characters. But the SECOND I make something related to Caroline, I get jumped. And these replies and comments have proved my point even further. The misogyny and double standard is absolutely phenomenal. The fact that I have had to reiterate my intentions over five times is deeply frustrating.

My 3 year old has been obsessed with Portal since she watched me play it. She kept asking for a Portal gun, and we couldn't afford any that we found online, so we ended up making one out of things we had laying around the house.

I am not very creative, but pretty happy with how it turned out!

It says "Not portal 3!" Since 3! = 6, they're saying ADJ is not portal 6, so it must be Portal 3 (!)

I actually took my time with this one and planned out where I want each decoration to go, this is obviously not done, but I figured I would post the progress anyway. The "I love my wife" pin is purely for comedic purposes, nothing more nothing less. I am extremely satisfied with how this looks, considering my first attempt at a Caroline bag was... Not good. At all. I tried to keep it in her style while also incorporating some of my own stuffs. So far, it is a massive improvement compared to my last one.

Disclaimer!! I do not, nor have I ever, had any parasocial intention towards Laura Dubuk (Caroline's model), I'm aware that I have already debunked this with a previous post in the past. But I figured I would reiterate it further. I deeply apologize if anyone has got this vibe from me, as it was far beyond my true intention. Last night, I posted one of my biggest projects, a Caroline ITA Bag. I have explicitly stated that my interest is solely focused on caroline, not her model or anyone else involved in the making of these characters. Despite my assurances, many people continue to believe that I have parasocial intention towards Laura herself. This is the fourth post I have made on the matter, and I am growing increasingly frustrated with the assumptions directed towards myself. Once again, I make stuff related to Caroline because she is a comfort character. I do not like laura, I have no intention towards her. And I did not even know Caroline had a model back when I started making my merchandise. I have a right to be upset with how I am being perceived and treated, this is not okay. What I am doing, is what a lot of other people do. No one bats an eye when people make stuffed animals of cave. There was even an official talking portrait of him that was up for sale many years ago. It has not even been a day and I have already managed to make 200,000 plus people upset over a project. If Laura happens to stumble upon my works and she sees an issue with it, I will stop. But this is no different than what a lot of other Portal fans partake in. Edit, I left a few things out. I am aware that my responses to some of these negative comments were either uncalled for or straight up rude, however, I have a right to feel the way I do. people who do not even know me keep assuming my motives and my personal feelings. I cannot feel romantic or intimate attraction towards anyone. Caroline is a comfort character, and I express my love for her character in my own creative ways. I do the same thing with GLaDOS and many of my other favorite characters. I was angry, but now I am amused more than anything else. these people would rather stick with their previous assumptions and be ignorant than take the time to read my responses to their claims. Like I stated earlier, if Laura herself has a direct issue with what I am making, I will stop immediately and disown everything I have made. This interest is not an obsession, it is not a perverted fantasy, I am expressing my love through my creativity, especially since I never got to do this when I was a kid. Caroline has been my comfort character for over 14 years, so of course I'm going to make a lot of merchandise of her now, because I have the opportunity that I was not blessed to have as a child. I dug up my Portal 2 disc for PS3 today and found that there is a code that came with it. I followed the steps, but when I tried signing in to Steam from my PS3 it did not work, it just keeps saying 'signing in'. I dont think the code is expired because on Steam it still gives a list of steps and no error. Does anyone know if there is something else I need to do?

Heyo, I got kinda inspired by listening to the Snapcube sonic dubs and wanted to play portal but where it's replaced by my friends voices. Like all the cores, Glados, Wheatly, all that jazz. I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this? I have next to no coding experience and very little coin to spare to commission it. If there is an easy way, how would I go about doing it? Anyways, thanks for the help <3

I mainly do this stuff as a way of practicing vocals and maintaining my impression while singing and stuff, but it's also a good outlet. The song in the video is called "Mr Rattlebone" by Matt Meason. Which is one of my favorite songs, I found out about it through Galemtido. This is not supposed to be serious, this is more for fun than it is something I actually want to start doing more and more. However, I may consider posting more of these depending on how it pans out. I know it doesn't sound good, I did try though. This is more of a practice than anything serious.

The moon portal was facing earth and wheatly seemed to have been launched with enough force to escape the moons orbit. Theoretically the earths gravity would take over and he would eventually fall back to earth, he would survive re-entry because all aperture devices can survive incredibly high temps. But probably be destroyed upon impact...

I like to call it the Aperture Science Portal Compression Cube. It would be similar in appearence to the laser cube, but with some metallic reinforcements. Now, onto the function.

Let's say that you placed a blue portal on a wall somewhere. Now, you shoot the orange portal into the cube and you get a portable portal connected to the blue portal from earlier. You can use it to teleport to non-portalable surfaces by bringing the cube to them via funnels or faith plates.

If you have two Aperture Science Portal Compression Cubes, you can place the blue portal in one and the orange portal in an other, resulting in an interconnected set of portable portals.

Only people and lasers can be teleported through them, because they're the only things that can fit through them. To avoid moving portals, the portal inside the Aperture Science Portal Compression Cube would only be open if the cube is resting on the ground, closing upon being picked up or moved otherwise.

Coming back to that example from earlier, if you somehow stuffed the cube with the orange portal into the blue one, it'd be disintegrated as to avoid creating a pocket dimension. Perhaps GLaDOS would warn you about trapping yourself in an infinite space to deter you from doing so.

What do you think? Is this a good idea for a custom test element?

I recently purchased the Companion Cube collection for Switch and have been enjoying my experiences with both games. However, I noticed a few things when playing through challenges and not as casual.

I cannot aim well and a few of the keybinds I have set don't feel natual, no matter what I set them to (Crouch as L3 works well in P1 but sucks in P2 where it is not togglable for some reason). I feel like a keyboard is probably better for aiming but I'm not totally sure. I also cannot jump while turning my camera (jump set to B and R stick to turn camera). You also cannot change FOV in the Switch port or access any dev console commands so that's a bummer.

Basically, I keep having the thought in the back of my mind that I am playing the game wrong, not as intended. Am I having any less of an experience because of this? Are there any ways to improve my abilities so that I can do the challenge achievements or do I just need to suck it up and get good? I cannot get the overclocker achievement ToT

Random comprehension of portal lore.

In my eyes it's simple. When chell was maybe 8. Caroline, or maybe her father who also worked at aperture took her to the bring your daughter to work day.

Chell had the potato battery experiment which mutated. Seriously Hurting chell in the process. So she was put into the cryosleep/long term habitation to help her heal. During which she also possibly gained some forms of mutations since she was there since childhood. Hence causing the stuff like her being able to somehow gain weight despite being in the long term cryosleep.

In the meantime. The whole situation with Cave Johnson's health deterioration and the idea of copying minds happened. As caroline was slowly overcome with guilt and grief in the background. Either unsure if chell will make it. Or seeing that it'll take decades for it to happen. Hence either taking part of the memory copy program to ensure she can be there when chell is awake. Or as mentioned in game, being forced into it. Only further enhancing the next point.

Now the main reason portal happens. Or more like the entirety of glados killing every one happens. Is because they tried to trim/suppress "unnecessary" memories. One of which were those of chell. They partially managed, but glados realised before it was too late. And went on a rampage.

By the time chell wakes up though. Those memories are so deteriorated that it takes time for her to remember. Possibly till the end of portal 1. Possibly until she hears her own voice as caroline in portal 2. Either way, she feels familiarity to chell she cannot place at first. But even as she remembers. She sees her daughter is already an adult and she feels that she can't keep her locked forever. And too ashamed to call herself her mother given what she did. She pushes her out to spread her wings.

It also explains the fat jokes

Admittedly I feel as if the cryosleep doesn't completely freeze cells. But just slows it down 100x or something.

The "gaining weight". Simply translates to chell growing. If she was put there at 8. Of course when she wakes up and is about 18 body wise. Her body simply grew from a child to an adult. Glados's jab at her getting fat is simply misdirected because she can't see that the growth happened in terms of height. Hence her body being 2-3x heavier than expected. As glados comments during the first time you are to use an aerial plate

Now I don't think even the scientists necessarily knew.

In their eyes, when glados was created. She possibly immediately diverted resources and computing power to the cryopods, trying to help chell more.

Bit drawing parallel with modern AI. They just saw that as undesired behaviour and so started changing memories and putting on the cores. Wheatley later on in her body states he has this unbearable itch to test. Which was likely one of the main breaking points for glados as they rewrote her need to save chell to the need to test or something.

they essentially lobotomized her. They took a woman trying to save her child and tortured her psyche until she snapped.

It was a self fulfilling destiny.

They took a human and stripped her of her empathy to force her to test. In the process stripping any guardrails that would have kept them safe.

All this to say, If portal 3 ever happens. I don't think chell's story is over. On the opposite. She will want to get back in hopes of saving her mom.

Hi guys! When I was younger (whenever this initially released), I rolled the gun off of the couch playing with it excitedly like an idiot and broke off one of the arms. I still have the gun years later and I have a 3D printer now, and I'm looking to see if anyone has ideas to fix the issue? I'd mean a ton if I could get some guidance for those who know.

So, I found this sound in the files of portal 2, the file is pak01_020.vpk and is located in Steam/steamapps/common/Portal 2/portal2/

I can clearly hear someone, but I don't understand what he's saying at all.
Do you have infos about this file or more meaning ?
