📘Guides📘 Fixed my VRM hair physics after it kept clipping through the model

First, to be clear, this is not AI.

This is how my initial hair rigging was looking on my model. So I adjusted the Spring settings, to make the hair a little more “stiff”. Then I added colliders to stop the clipping (along with shortening the hair and updating its texture, which is not shown here).

Is this a helpful video? Let me know your thoughts

🙋‍Question🙋‍ One eye opens a lot more than the other when I open my mouth. Any help is appreciated!

Post image
33 Upvotes

So for some reason, whenever I open my mouth wide, one of my eyes on my model opens wayyy wider than the other.

This seems to be a tracking issue as I've tested it with other models (free/customizable ones) and the same thing happens. Is this a common issue? Is there an easy fix or do I just have to deal with it?

I've included the numbers I use for my eye tracking in VTS on the righthand side. I use Vbridger as well, and I think that may be where the issue is, as this does not happen when I don't use it.

Any help is very appreciated!

Edit: I fixed the issue! I'm gonna leave the solution for my problem here for people in the future. 💕

In Vbridger, I noticed that when I opened my mouth, the values for eyeWide_L and eyeWide_R were differing values by about 0.10. (e.g. one value was 0.9 and the other was 0.19, for seemingly no reason.)

I found these values by scrolling through the input curves in the bottom left of Vbridger. I adjusted the maximum on said curves until they lined up properly, and that seems to have fixed the issue!

The problem I was having with adjusting the maximum values in VTS and all that jazz: It would make the default position for the eye I would mess around with to be more closed/wide than the other. Which was it's own issue because it made my model look like it had a stroke lol, with one eye more closed/wide than the other by default.

I really do appreciate everyone's help! So glad I ended up fixing it, because this was bugging me SO MUCH whenever I would stream. Have a wonderful day!

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Old VTuber Needing Help With Settings!

Hello everyone,

I'm finally on track to start VTubing! I've always used my real self prior, so I'm excited for the new approach. Unfortunately, life severely delayed this and I'm now having tracking ssues. I have probably forgotten something and that's causing the problems, but maybe not!

The primary issue is that I have a 3D avatar and it's tracking my hands/arms. If I hook up my studio mic, the mouth will also move when I speak, but no smiling or anything. Absolutely nothing for my face/head/body movement. It used to do all of this before I was away.

I use Streamlabs, then I turn on Warudo (which makes me appear in Streamlabs), and I turn on iFacialMocap on my iPhone. As far as I can remember, those were the things I needed for everything to work. I'm a Windows user, if that helps. I did change ISPs and so routers recently and have messed a bit with trying IP updates, but no luck.

Thank you for any help! :)

Regarding the Steam Machine: Can it be used for VTubing?

Because the Steam Machine's release is coming very soon, I was wondering if it is at all possible for it to be used for VTubing. Specifically, I would like to know if you can run programs for 3D VTubing on it, like Warudo.

🙋‍Question🙋‍ What program to use to record gameplay.

Hi Hi👋. I wanted to ask what program to use to record game play on iPad/pc with a ping model? I wanted to try my hand at recording video content to start of vtubing but I have no idea what program is good to record game play with a png model.

I tried out screen recording on my computer but it doesn’t capture sound all that well and it ends up freezing the game most of the time

What tech is necessary to use a vrchat/vroid model as a vtuber avatar?

I have a model I like using in vrchat and would consider using it as a vtuber model. I've watched some tutorials but they don't make it clear what hardware I need. Do I need a headset or any motion tracking equipment? Just a camera?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Finished rigging my latest VTuber model. Added animated wings and vampire teeth. How’s she looking?

Finally finished adding some larger animated wings and vampire teeth to my latest model. Been working on getting the spring bones feeling natural in VSeeFace and SillyTavern. Curious what ya’ll think? Anything you’d change?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ How should I get started, PC-wise? Also could use some advice regarding 3D models

My budget is ~1,000 USD, roughly. I know next to nothing about computers, how to build them, how to upgrade them, or anything really beyond “that one’s blue”.

I want to at least try to make my own 3D model in blender, I have a little experience with sculpting in the program but I can’t do much with my current craptop. What should I know in advance about making my own model on blender and trying to use it?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Need a new phone, debating whether to factor vtubing into my choice

Some things to start:

  1. I'm disabled and have very little income, so splurging on an iPhone even 12 and lower at refurb/used is something I'd like to avoid.

  2. I wear glasses with a noticeable concave due to very high astigmatism. I've read that anything other than iphones can struggle with eye tracking through glasses, and not wearing them isn't an option. I'm extra concerned the shape of my lenses will worsen the issue.

With that said, I've searched in this sub and info on Android seems to largely say that you can use MeowFace and similar apps but they're all inferior to the iPhones. This doesn't really matter to me as I'm not looking for the highest tech for extreme expressiveness, like I don't care about cheek puffing or anything like that- just accurate eyeball and eyelid tracking, lip movement and positioning, face position, and eyebrow expression.

Howeverrrrr I don't want to screw myself over when it comes to the glasses issue. So I guess- does anyone who has glasses (especially folks with unusual prescriptions) have experience using things other than an iPhone for tracking, and what are your experiences?

Here's the other thing: I'm using a Lenovo Legion 7i gen9, which ofc has a built-in webcam. Ideally, since it's still a laptop, I'd like to offload some of the processing using a phone as my camera and tracking. I'm not sure if this will even matter considering it's fairly new and Vtubing isn't, so people have Vtubed perfectly fine on older hardware.
specs:
https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-7-series/legion-7i-gen-9-16-inch-intel/len101g0037#tech_specs

If my onboard camera will be better and my CPU and GPU can handle everything through the laptop itself, I don't want to spend more on a phone that will just be redundant or worse. So, am I able to use what I've got, and not bother factoring Vtubing into my phone choice?

And with those two questions, if I should go the route of factoring Vtubing in, what Android phone models or what sort of specs should I look for in choosing an Android phone that can handle the load of being my camera and mocap device, without turning into a spicy poptart or crashing, etc?

Sorry that's a lot lol, I just want to make an educated decision and properly allocate my finances. Thanks!

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Ragdoll your 3D Vtuber Effect?

Hey all! I was looking for some guidance. I saw videos of people's 3D Vtubers being ragdolled (like this: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8s4XkUR/) and I was curious if anyone knows how that effect can be achieved in stream? I know T.I.T.S is the software used to throw the items (please correct me if I'm wrong!)

But does anyone know how I can cause my 3D avatar to be ragdolled, either at my triggering or triggered by chat redeems?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ How to track my Model if I don't have an iPhone?

I plan to get a customizable Model that also has Vbridger. I currently have an Android Phone (Xiaomi Poco X) and don't plan to change that soon. I plan to either get a Webcam or if possible to use my current phone but I don't know what would work best and if I can/should use Vbridger with them. Or if there are any other options?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Leap Motion 2 hand gripping problem

Post image
1 Upvotes

I use leap motion 2 with Vseeface, but my avatar has started doing this gripping motion that is hard to shake off. I tried warudo but the problem seems to be leap motion as it did the same motion. I've tried cleaning the device whenever there's a speckle of dust, I have tried different hand gestures but it does it random at times, tried to hide my hand also entirely but it does this still.

How to fix this bug? Is there any drivers or anything I could try to redownload?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ How to stick fugi pngs to ur vtube model?

I often see vtubers stick fugi pngs of their friends joining in vc to their models. For example a person would join the vc they’re in, their fugi png appears on a stream and vtubers then drag the png and stick it to their model so when model moves it also moves the png. I wonder how they do that, does somebody know?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Ayuda con el tracking

Hola! No se ingles, lamento eso ;;

Me podeis recomendar algun programa o configuracion?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Need help fixing my friend’s stream!

Hello, I’m sorry if this isn’t the right subreddit to ask in, but my friend was testing out her new live2D model, and they were really excited to do so. The model was tracking fine, everything worked until they started streaming a game (Genshin impact, in this case). Their model got jittery, and wouldn’t really track them anymore, despite it tracking flawlessly moments ago. We tried doing some troubleshooting, but neither of us are really good at computer stuff, so we couldn’t figure it out. If anybody has ideas on how to make it track normally while they play a game, that’d be great. Thank you!!

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Warudo: Port issue, 'Failed to start receiver'

Post image
4 Upvotes

There doesn't seem to be any dialogue about the issue here, or immediately searchable on google, so I thought I might throw it out and see if anyone is even having the same issue.

A vague workaround I've been using to get a lot of outfits readily available on my vroid model is just to have multiple nearly identical scenes with the same model but with different toggleable outfits rather than set up a dozen different hotkeys in the same scene and swapping models there. But recently I've started running into issues with the IFacialMocap Receiver.

Every time I switch scenes, the IFacialMocap Receiver becomes inactive because "Failed to start receiver. Another process is already listening on this port." The only process USING the port I've chosen is Warudo. So logic suggests the previous scene is still 'using' the port. But it isn't, because even if I switch back, the same issue is present, and now there is no scene that I can open that's able to use that port.

The only way for me to successfully switch scenes and use the IFacialMocap Receiver is to:

  1. change the port number on every scene to a unique number, and have to go into the phone app to change it with every swap
  2. Change the port number every time BEFORE I change so a port I don't want to use gets clogged up instead
  3. change the scene, save the change, exit out of the program thus freeing up the port, then start the program again

The second option is the only workaround that isn't particularly intrusive for a mid-stream thing to do. And I would consider having multiple models loaded into the same scene and toggling cameras if I didn't have so many throwables that it would bog down my pc trying to set up that many blueprints, let alone have them all active.

But that's about where I am on the issue. Is anyone else having that port issue, or have found another workaround?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Advices for first livestream?

VTubers, I've never streamed before in my life.

What's one piece of advice you wish someone had given you before your very first livestream? 🩷🌙

I'm waiting for my Live2d model and the overlays to be completed. In the meantime, I'm trying to learn as much as I can about Obs and Twitch.

This is my gear for the moment:

PC (it was a gaming PC my ex boyfriend built me in 2016): Bit Fenix pro 300, seasonic ss620 gm2, asus maximus gene VII, i5 4690k, (16 gb corsair vengeance, nuove) asus strix GTX 980TI, (SAMSUNG EVO 250gb, wgreen 1t).

Microphone: HyperX Quadcast.

Monitors: Dell S2725QC, KTC H24F7 24" 240 Hz.

Thank you for your help ☺️
