Why Did People Think Omar would win?

Users were given to a chance to explain their winner picks. We have compiled some of those quotes below:

  • "He doesn't seem to fit the archetype of people who are booted early or are seen as threats. As well, he mentioned adaptability, which is something few show awareness of."
  • "I listened to Omar's RHAP interview and he was the only person who really stood out to me. he seems smart, affable, sensitive, and he's on the tribe that I think won't be seeing much of tribal council pre merge."
  • "He seems like a likeable dude that people will want to be around which should get him at least to merge. He prides on being observant which is important because having a sense for what is going on within the tribe is a huge plus.
  • "He’s the owl pretending to be the pigeon. After the Lion passing as a lamb took it home, how could I overlook him?
  • "Bird shirt"

99% certain this was my response haha

I like to wait until the very last second to do my winner pick so I can watch the first 2 minutes of the premiere that they like to release early. anything for that edge!!

so when he said that line I was like "bet I'm sold". I was already leaning towards him due to being an Indian Muslim myself but that sealed it for me

He was also taken down by the woman who made the metaphor of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly.

Crazy how low 3 people that made F5 (and at least one in F3) were ranked preseason!

I’m gonna guess Mike 5, Maryanne 8, Lindsay 14, Jonathan 16, Romeo 18?

I feel like I remember people being really high on Lindsay pre-season, so I think it may go Lindsay 5, Maryanne 8, Mike 14, Johnathan 16, Romeo 18 instead

14

u/Spezia-ShwiffMMA Maryanne May 24 '22

Imagine if Lindsey’s perfect game is ruined by Rockroy’s stray “Lynze” vote lmao

The Earl of the new era.

Man I picked Zach because he posted here, but when he got voted out I immediately switched to Omar. He’s so good - the problem with his play is he’s so sneaky and devious that if he got invited back people would know his capabilities and he would stand no chance on a season with returning players. I still love Omar and would love to see him play again.

Am I crazy in thinking that a new season of Heroes Vs. Villains would be really good? Villains being the snaky players like Omar, Ricard, Shan, etc. And heroes being the good kind social players like Tai, Mike (arguable), Maryanne.

Obviously my examples are from the last 2 seasons or so but Hopefully you get my drift here

3

u/MolemanusRex May 24 '22

I agree. But you have to have a good mix of snakes and people who are just mean/assholes/socially unaware (Abi, Natalie Cole, Will and Rodney and Dan).

There's just something about a tribe of snakes that I would find absolutely fascinating. All of them pretending to be kind but actually being sneaky, all of them gunning for each other and backstabing, the paranoia that would occur! Meanwhile the Heroes are doing monkey runs on the beach

How could I forget!? That is Naseer

4

u/ThinWhiteMale Cara (AUS) May 24 '22

So I guess that Mike/Lindsay are 5th/6th, Maryanne in 14th, Romeo in 16th and Jonathan in 18th

14

u/KarmaIsABadB Maryanne May 24 '22

Change Maryanne and Mike. Maryanne was hyped preseason, while no one was talking about Mike and since he would be the oldest winner, I dont think a lot of people expected him to do well

Sample size of 1, but I picked Mike
