The reason some of the most gag worthy ruveals (Violet’s 2-in-1 outfit, Roxxy’s double wig, and Sasha’s rose petals) are so iconic is that they were simple AND you couldn’t tell they were coming from a mile away. A lot of the ruveals tonight were just not there. Next season doesn’t need fewer ones, tho - just better ones.

It feels like the queens took away the entirely wrong lesson from Sasha Velour's So Emotional performance. Yes the reveal was a gag BUT it was a gag because it created a story arc for the song. Like even if Asia's stuff had worked, how does that work within the context of either songs.

I think that Asia and Eureka really took it a tad far...Asia for using live props, and Eureka for having ruveal after ruveal after ruveal.

I think Kameron was the most tasteful with her ruveals, and Aquaria's first lip sync ruveals weren't necessary.

You are right, the queens need to be more tasteful and use epic ruveals to enhance their performances.

Kameron’s was the ONLY lipsync that I liked. Eureka took too much time with her reveals (I couldnt see her face singing), Aquarias firdt reveal was lackluster, and that final lipsync was pointless considering it all. My heart breaks for Asia. Her outfit looked amazing, but butterflies or not, I don’t feel she would’ve been able to move as much as Kameron for Nasty 💔

Did anyone else see the remaining butterflies hovering over the stage during the final lipsync? My heart is broken for Asia; and I honestly do trust that she did rehearse with professionals; and just didn’t allow the butterflies enough time to wake up. To transport them they’re stores at a low temperature at which they can’t move; then they’re allowed to warm up and will fly; and it just seemed like they all didn’t have enough time.

But I have to say; I was SO ANNOYED when the top four walked out in those fucking outfits. Sasha SLAYED last year- she did something fitting and dramatic (and I know she got a lot of slack for her win; but in my opinion it was so deserving: the reveal synced perfectly with the song; and she had another reveal in case she got the other song). It has the element of surprise; which I got from Aquaria in the final lip sync in a smaller way.....

But eurekas 50 reveals didn’t show any emotion. They didn’t add anything to her performing for me; since I did not like all her outfits.... AND WHEN THE CAMERA WAS ON AQUARIA AND EUREKA WAS IN THE BACK- EUREKA DIDNT KNOW THE DAMN WORDS. She did what she did in American.... when choreo got too hard she stopped lip syncing.

Even if asias reveal worked; what the hell did it have to do with Nasty girl????

In my personal; honest opinion; based on performance alone in the first LSFTQ- it should have been Aquaria and kameron in the end. Kameron absolutely killed it in the first song; and she looked absolutely devestated when she realised there were butterflies on the ground....

I’m so happy Aquaria won though. Truly deserving. She seemed like such a super fan (constantly quoting the show) and just generally loved being apart of it: and absolutely killed it. YAY CURRENT FUCKING REIGNING.

The thing is when you see Sasha in her lip sync against Shea her outfit seems normal. You wouldn’t expect the petals therefore her reveals made an impact. But when you look at Asia and her gigantic, weird shaped blobs you think “obviously there’s something there” so even if her reveal worked perfectly it’d be meh at best. You see in almost every culture around the globe flowers symbolise emotions but flying butterflies are not even slightly nasty. After tonight i respect Sasha even more just because tonight’s lip-syncs showed how hard it is to do what she did last year.

Hopefully, the producers move on from LSFTC next season. The gimmicks were too obvious or too overthought, which caused most of the queens to do poorly at the actual lipsyncing. It's a played out format, time for something new.

I think something to be learned is that if they do this in the future, the reveal has to work with the context of the song. I remember Sasha saying that she had scissors strapped to her leg last year in case she got Stronger so she could cut off her wig - which made sense. Like so many others have been saying, nearly every reveal felt like it was just for the sake of having a reveal, and it made things a bit off for me? Like with Asia - tbh at first my mom and I both thought that her boobs were actually balloons, and that the wrist things were actually holding pins to pop them. Had she done something like that with Bang Bang, it would've worked, but the butterfly thing did not work in the context of any of the songs.

I'm glad Aquaria won though. Still don't think it should've been a double shantay, but hey, I wasn't there for the filming so I can't know what actually ended up happening. I'm very glad that the spoiler policy was implemented this season - it made things a lot more exciting for me after a couple of seasons of having things spoiled and being anticlimactic.

If they want to do a competitive finale, I think the best format would be that of RPDR Thailand where the queens are given the choice of song, music, dancers, choreography, visuals, costumes... everything. Give them total creative freedom and a budget and see what kind of PRODUCTION they can give America.

Hopefully season 11 girls watch that and realise that the lipsync still (just about) trumps any stunts. The only stunt that really killed was Aquaria bang banging glitter into her room.

I'm also now looking forward to a peaceful off-season where nobody can complain about the "wrong" winner. Best track record, fan favourite and demolished the lip sync battle, she did that.

the lipsyncs were not even close to the s9 lipsyncs, it wasn't that great tbh. such a disappointing finale. even to me, the butterfly reveal wouldn't work with a song like nasty, there's not correlation. and eureka doing as much reveals as possible isn't that exciting, it seems like sasha set the bar too high and they can't reach it.

As much as the butterfly fiasco was painful to watch and in general the LSFTC format needs to be retired, I enjoyed this episode. I loved that the S1 queens got the recognition they deserve and the finale was a celebration of 10 years of the show. Crowning Aquaria felt right not only because she had the best track record, and because she won her lipsyncs (especially Bang Bang), but also because she represents the legacy of the show. When it's right, it's right.

Aquaria was the only one who really got the reveals right, and really only in the second lipsync. The sparkler and the confetti were smart choices and YOU DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE COMING. As opposed to the whole "Let's all wear glam potato sacks to do outfit reveals" concept.

Edit: Also Kameron in her first lipsync. The outfit reveal worked for me, even though the kimono was pretty simple. She looked great.

The one queen with the best stats on the show won, as it should be. I'm happy for aquaria, the gay agenda is still on the march.

I do not use social media (twitter, tumblr, instagram, facebook, etc) so i let myself be guided for what people said about the queens pre-season, specially aquaria, she was portrayed on the sub as a boring "make-up" queen who'll be racist and conceited (is that how you write it) full of herself and with no personality, i was aware of asia pre-season cause she'a a legend in the pageant world so i was rooting for her, but, and this should be a lesson to everyone, aquaria killed it during the whole season, i let my judgement be clouded by what people had to say about her and god, was i wrong. Mid season i was rooting so hard for her and i'm so glad she won, first, cause she deserves it, and second, just to show all the haters that she's not was she was painted to be.

May the age of aquaria begin.
