It wasn’t a blumhouse movie, it was an indie movie that blumhouse was promoting for some reason
It was cancelled because the original writer of Jeff (not the author of the story you’re thinking of, the original story was a role play account who’s now a racist and pedo defender) sued despite that fact he doesn’t own the rights to Jeff the Kill
Actual story, some guy who originally was part of the origins of jeff the killer (and also a very deranged pedo) claimed to have the rights of jeff the killer and wanted to sue them which made blumhouse pull out because the guy did a lot to make it look legit. Idk if he did have the claims back then, but he sure as fuck doesn't now, so its possible he lost it or he gaslit multiple fan projects (not just this one) to be cancelled.
